  1. For the fronts, i used a couple single circuit leds. Come on with key, and flash off with signals. My signal switch was for rear lights only so needed to do some trickery with relays.
  2. Typical garage doors are 7 feet. It should fit. If you need an inch or so, deflate tires
  3. I use universal /synthetic atf. One bottle on shelf. Same goes for my antifreeze. Universal long life. Less to stock. Unkess its under warranty, then oem stuff and owner keeps the leftovers.
  4. You can clearly see the brass fitting in the bottom of the master. No residual valve. If its holding fluid with no pressure on pedal, you should be good to go.
  5. I used pt cruiser seats and i find it tight to the steering wheel. Not terrible but im not a big guy either. Rear seat from an extended cab chevy 88-98 i heard fits pretty good. I should check as i have an assortment of those trucks.
  6. I like carbs too. What i was raised on. First one was Dave’s 67 dart. Think it was a 170 slant 6. We rebuilt it and it ran. i have a edelbrock 1406. Same as the avs i think. Parts interchange. I picked up a carb from late 60’s and carb is similar to the 1406, makes jetting easier.
  7. Generator should be pretty quiet. So whether its brushes or bearings is up to you to determine. And if you want to attempt it yourself. im thinking s couple bearings is all it will need to quieten down. runnnig with no pump, no circulation, head heats up quick. Sender is in head. Go figure…
  8. I cut a nice neat hole, welded a pipe to it and slid a cv boot over shifter. Sealed it up nice.
  9. I converted mine from column to floor. Much nicer to shift. I eventually swapped the whole powertrain out and plan to go through the flathead to fix the heavy blow by. Then it goes in the next one. the 49 3 speed top fit on my 51 column shift. Came with brake lever too so that was a bonus.
  10. I like the tailgate.can drop it right down out of the way. Or, horizontal its a perfect height to sit on. The whole truck is so enjoyable everybody loves it. Easy to drive, but a challenge in the snow. Discovered that when we were out spreading joy on christmas eve with a lit tree in the box.
  11. Not something i would think to be practical, as the one side of the hard line runs to the fuel filter.
  12. The high pressure line and clamps is the only solution. The clamps themselves were used from factory on the fuel filters, and some had them in the engine bay as well. I wont think twice about using them. I keep them on hand, i even use the clamps on power steering return lines.
  13. No, i think you are taking the right approach on the fuel lines. The hose for fuel injection is a little more money, but running regular fuel line beyond its limit is a risk. So a good choice.
  14. The cooling system ran with very low pressure, its common for coolant to push out. If you are using an overflow tank it will rise and fall from hot to cold. If its overheating thats a concern. If head gasket is leaking, there is a chemical test for that. Head gaskets typically leak under high engine load, usually followed with overheating. dirty engine block results in a plugged rad, something else to consider.
  15. Water line issues are never any fun. The current one that haunts me is my line in the pumphouse freezes. Solved for now, but next summer things are going to change.
  16. So i assume the brass (sintered metal) fittings that were failing have all been resolved? There were a lot of failures a few years ago. They were disintegrating.
  17. It was a challenge figuring out where to run exhaust. Lots of work to get duals out the back like i wanted, and wanted it easy to remove. Side shot shows muffler and outlet under running board
  18. Muffler shops can usually handle just about anything. Failing that, i did the right thing and ordered a 2-1/4” exhaust kit from amazon. Built my dual exhaust with ease. Be aware, you can buy dual inlet, single outlet mufflers.
  19. Lots of padding and an engine hoist. Wings straight up with a couple straps. thats how i do mine, sans padding.
  20. When i got my new anti-squeak i got new nails. A blob of silicone in each hole before driving in the new slightly oversize nails.
  21. Remember, old mc was pushing fluid from one port, divided into 4 wheel cylinders. Dual mc’s move double the amount of fluid.
  22. Last night before a test run. A few laps around town tonight.going to be fun!
  23. I did that, mid august in my steel quonset. Pulled two transmissions and installed one. I bought a mac taskmaster for a few hundred, old mopar ford and chevy connectors included. Was very handy. Havent dragged it out in a while. Still have a couple oldies that need it though.
  24. The drb is an awesome tool for these older mopars. As mentioned 3.3 is typically a solid engine. The 3.3 in my 97 intrepid outlasted the car. Transmission was solid too.
  25. Was -25 celcius this morning. -4 tomorrow morning. Next week off to calgary then Drumheller. Supposed to be warmer. my latest aquisition,2010 avalanche has excellent heat. Thankful for that.
