BobT-47P15 Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 The movers are here today to take some of the stuff we have accumulated while living here in Anderson, MO to our new house in Joplin. They will get the biggest stuff, the rest will be taken in the Caravan over several trips. So, the fun begins. The new house......... Quote
Young Ed Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Congrats Bob. Wish I could be there to help haul a few boxes. I'm glad you are finally pretty close to returning to live as it was or as close as you can get. Its gotta be pretty close to a year later isn't it? Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Best of luck to you, Bob. I am looking forward to seeing you in KC in September. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 4, 2012 Author Report Posted May 4, 2012 Yeah....real close Ed......the tornado occurred on May 22 of last year. The house isn't completely done yet, but it's down to smaller things. They can come in and do those after we are there. Quote
Young Ed Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 My coworker that got hit by the tornado we had here that same day just planted a new tree in her yard last weekend and the city is replanting all the boulevard trees in her neighborhood right now. She spent quite a bit of last summer getting all the damage repaired. Its amazing how long some of this stuff takes. How are your neighbors doing? Are some not coming back? Quote
greg g Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Congratulations good luck. I am grateful for the lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and floors that need waxing because it means I have a home. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Bob, Good to hear that you're moving back. That's a good looking house. My wife and I want a ranch for our next place. How many square feet is yours? Quote
hkestes41 Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Bob good to see your nearing the finish line. Now, since you will be getting good and settled by time for the HAMB drags, I would suggest you christen the place with a big ol BBQ and Kegger. I'm sure you could find a few takers floating around the Holiday Inn parking lot. Looking forward to visiting with you in a few months. Will the vert be done by then? How about the coupe? Quote
steveplym Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Looking good Bob. Glad you are getting close to being back home. Quote

pflaming Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Is that BRICK that I see? Haven't seen a new house made of brick for years. It's all stucco on the West coast. The house looks great, should be very enjoyable to live in. Have a great summer. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 As John Denver sang. Aint it Good To Be Back Home Again. Quote

Oldguy48 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Congratulations on your new house, Bob. Certainly unfortunate circumstances causing it to be built, but it will be your new "Home Sweet Home". Wayne Quote
John Reddie Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Bob, Great news. The very best to you in the future:). John R Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 6, 2012 Author Report Posted May 6, 2012 How are your neighbors doing? Are some not coming back? Ed....our nearest neighbors around us are now built back. A lot of homes in the subdivision have been repaired and rebuilt. However, some have opted to sell and do other things. At least 3 new homes are spec houses from two different builders. ---------------------------------------------------------------- J Harold.......Good to hear that you're moving back. That's a good looking house. My wife and I want a ranch for our next place. How many square feet is yours? -----1600 to 1700 sq feet. Haven't tried to measure yet. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Kirk.........Now, since you will be getting good and settled by time for the HAMB drags, I would suggest you christen the place with a big ol BBQ and Kegger. I'm sure you could find a few takers floating around the Holiday Inn parking lot. Yeah, I bet there would be a few (dozen) takers on that. Something to consider. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul F........ Is that BRICK that I see? Haven't seen a new house made of brick for years. It's all stucco on the West coast. The house looks great, should be very enjoyable to live in. Have a great summer. Yes.....that is brick, with a section in the middle of "stacked" stone, artificial stone made locally. Brick if pretty common here, always has been. Today's home building trends seem to include front treatments that include brick, stone and stucco. The sides and rear of the house are vinyl siding. Thanks for the good wishes guys.....much appreciated. We stayed there Friday night for the first time. Seems like we were staying in some other place as things are all laid out different, different flooring and such. Will be making a few additional trips with the Caravan to bring up assorted "stuff" of the house....plus the two cats. The contractor says he may start on the detached garage in the next month or so. Just wanted him to take time to finish up stuff in the house like door knobs and other smaller items before beginning that. Quote
clay diggs Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Sorry about your other house, but this one is really nice and know you will enjoy it. Hope you get your garage built soon. If I make it to the Springfield swap meet, will give you a call. Clay Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Good news is you wont have any grass to cut this summer:D How is Dale doing on your vert? Quote
RobertKB Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Bob, I am really glad to see you slowly getting back to normal! Once you have your garage built and the convertible back, you will feel even more at home. Good luck with the rest of the moving. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 7, 2012 Author Report Posted May 7, 2012 Good news is you wont have any grass to cut this summer:D How is Dale doing on your vert? Not much grass to cut, but a whole lot of rocks to pick. Eventually the contractor will use his landscape machine which, I think, gets rocks and levels the dirt, etc. Then, we will get sod for the front and around to the side a bit. Grass seed for the back yard. Dale has put one coat of yellow paint on the car, but progress has slowed since he began working at his local O'Reilly Auto store. He wants to get it done by time for that Mopar gathering in K C this summer. If he doesn't, we'll just attend anyway. Quote
