  1. You can drill and bush the carb where the throttle shaft passes through. It's really a simple fix. Good luck.
  2. I haven't used Bernbaums but if you want to keep it simple and keep your stock wheels, go with Rusty Hope. As far as the master, my dailies both have single reservoir masters and they haven't killed me yet. I put easily 12,000 Mike's a year on them, freeway commuting, back roads, road trips with no problems. Good luck on your search.
  3. For 80 bucks I'd rather fill up my tank and drive for an ice cream with the change. Shoot, I just went to the March Meet, saw some really nice cars and got my eyes burned out with nitro for 40 bucks. Have fun either way!

    Motivation

I get the same way on my own projects. I think a lot of us do. It's usually because I work on so many other people's cars and bikes that I'm burned out by the time I get to mine. What works for me is to just not force it. I'll go do something else like a bike ride to the coast or do some house projects. Another thing I have learned that keeps me motivated is to not jump around. Finish each part that you are doing then move into the next. It's less overwhelming when you have only one thing to focus on. Also, if the state of the economy or world in general is getting to you, my best advice is to turn your tv off. At least don't listen to or watch the news. Put some music on in your garage and wrench away. Good luck, you'll be right back at it in no time.
  5. I'll go out on a limb and say you have hot water running through the heater core and that's all that matters. Why not run it how you have it, swap the lines, run it and see if it makes a difference?
  6. No, I was just suggesting a simple solution to the OPs question regarding wire length.
  7. Why not just remove the old wiring, lay it out and measure to see what you need?
  8. PB blaster and heat.
  9. It's been sitting for 8 years. I'd offer him 1k for the whole deal.
  10. Good deal on the stock axle. I've been swapping axles for 30 years, never a problem. Many under 10 second and quicker drag cars. Maybe the guys having problems are doing something wrong Glad your stocker worked out.
  11. That thing deserves a red ram.
  12. Egge.
  13. You're making a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be. If you have to shave the linings, do it. Make it happen. These cars are archaic, not much to them. I'm not trying to be an a hole, just saying make it happen.
  14. I second the swap meets. I drive my old cars every day year round so the old 6v charger I bought at a swap meet for ten bucks just sits.
  15. Using equal length shoes on the rear is fine.
  16. Mine have the same arm
  17. Trico 33122. I got mine from rock auto, 10.50 a pop.
  18. Just make sure they're installed correctly and run it.
  19. My thickstun has a bar that the original linkage attaches to. That bar connects to the carbs with rods and heim joints.
  20. Aren't the Canadian Dodges rebadged Plymouths?
  21. I personally don't think the juice is worth the squeeze on this one. I'd say maybe if you had a full tilt build that you were trying to get everything you could from the motor. Plus, what about the valve stem? Isn't it still obstructing flow? Of course, not as much but it's still right in the path.
  22. Take it to a radiator shop. They should be able to repair what you have.
  23. If you push in on the door panel to expose the shaft, you will see a pin holding the handle to the shaft. Push that pin out and the handle will come off
  24. Sounds to me like both machinists aren't very good at what they do or it's too far out of their comfort zone to work on your motor. Machining is machining. If you have specs for an engine, you should be able to do it that's like saying I can't paint your car red because I only shoot white Personally, I'd tear it all of the way down and really clean and inspect it. No reason to not rebuild what you have. Who's to say whatever running replacement you buy is going to be worth a darn. Might end up in the same boat. Good luck with whatever you do.
  25. Pick n Pulls are full of Cherokees. Rear ends are 120 bucks unless you go on a half price day. Lots of Rangers and Explorers too if you want to go that route
