Donate to Salvation Army, Scouts, Churches etc. But at some point in the last 30 years or so it seems that a percentage of the populace has become more willing to beg than ever before. Even having $1000 cellphones and hundred of dollars worth of tattoos doesn’t seem to make any difference. My Father would have died rather than take”Charity”. I do recognize that times are hard as is said for a lot of people but the idea of working and saving is foreign to some. And the idea of doing the varied types of labor Frank was talking about. No. That is a big reason immigrants often do well here. Not afraid of hard work and have no pretensions about who they are.

In the last year my wife has put cameras up to cover all entrances to our house and garage. She gets an alert on her phone each time a camera records something . I believe it then saves the film although I admit I don’t know where. These are battery operated stand alones

The older I get the less I like Humanity. Not people you understand. Humanity. There is always some lying, cheating jackass who feels that only a sucker works for a living and tries to steal what little he has. I have found Police in general almost useless for robbery. If a gun wasn't stolen, or someone killed or hurt, they don't really care. File a claim with your insurance they tell you. Someone broke into my house 15 years ago and stole a bunch of stuff. A week earlier my employer was broken into but the thief was caught in the act. Turns out he was a former employee who had gone to drugs He had gone through the files and thrown them on the floor. Then I was robbed. Gave the Detective(yeah) his info. Never heard a word. Sorry to hear of the problems you have had. And hope that the thief is sucked into the mud.

New cars are built to a formula. Easier to build if they all have mostly the same components. And if you train your customers to think they absolutely must have computer screens and power everything very soon folks will not buy cars without them. When we bought our Kia several years ago the hardest part was finding a car not packed to the gills with options. For the Elderly the standard equipment was more than confusing enough.

I think that too many folks watch the Barrett-Jackson auctions on tv and think, hell my 19.. whatever is worth more than that. So since Barrett-Jackson is not always available and E-Bay is... If you watch the auctions on E-Bay you will see the same cars over and over, hoping for a Miracle.

I am gong to toss out what I did on my 52. I got a kit form NAPA and disassembled the valve to fix it. Never got it to work again. Having it rebuilt was about $150. I found that a company makes new ranco style valves for 57 Chevies. I looked at the catalog and thought, why not. Cost about $80 and had to modify my firewall a bit but it works fine.

I remember buying a thermostat for my 52 from a guy on E-Bay about 18 years ago and when I went to use it it was completely different from what I need. Are the earlier cars different?

The last car I had painted was my 1983 Chevy G 30 van from Earl Scheib(wouldn't fit in my garage) and I did the prep. Resale Red, $250.00. In about 1990 pr so.

I am surprised no one has answered this. The wire goes to the big post on the starter. Make sure the screw you use to connect to the coke is not too long you as you don’t want to short it to the manifold. The choke is activated when you engage the starter. After the car starts the choke is then controlled by the bi metal spring in the choke itself.

I have heard tales of the dreaded Imron paint. The nastiest stuff I ever sprayed was POR 15 on the underside of my 52 Plymouth. Another open all the doors and wear a HD filter mask paint.

I sprayed several cars back in the 80's and 90's. Taught myself mostly to do the prep work and learned to lay paint. However that was in the days of Acrylic Enamel ande I really have no idea how to do base coat clear coat. Got good enough to the point where I did a few for a used car lot in town and several friends cars as well. Enjoyed it then, too old now. to contort well enough to do a good job.
