  1. Same guides.
  2. It's your carburater. The Stromberg carbs have a throttle side lever plate to throttle shaft wear loosing issue. The throttle shaft to throttle side lever swage gets loose and the throttle plate is not accurately held in position in relation to the throttle shaft- cause of uneven idle control. Not easy to fix! Bob
  3. I Push for shallow penetration / pull (wire aimed at bead) for deeper penetration-heavier metals. I run an XMT304. High end Miller inverter machine.
  4. The step up piston should be loose and pop right out with the spring under it. Lube it or your choice of thin spray lube and carefully try to work it up and out.
  5. Someone would need a old Cleveland parts book or an old U-Joint interchange book to get the original cleveland #. The original MoPar# for a complete 1/2 to 3/4 ton joint assembly is #1238415. This is out of the B-1 series Dodge truck parts book.
  6. Those ball and trunnion pins are pressed in Extremely tight. You need a press to do them. The pin should be with in .002-004" side to side. If the pin moves in the shaft from use it probably will move again. A big drive line shop here in Seattle told me they won't install the B&T style because of some pins coming loose and causing vibration issues. I suppose 3M shaft lock or an equivalent might help to keep the pin in place. Bob
  7. I have been to "Doms". I bought a NOS blue Desoto steering wheel and more from him 10 plus years ago! He was a great guy. Great story james! Bob
  8. The 230 has a 8 hole crank-good to go.
  9. 8.20's were factory equipment on all my straight 8 cars with the 6" rims up through 1950.
  10. The silver space ball.
  11. My frogs started croaking for the 1st time this year--- yesterday the 7th. Last year they started on the 1st of march. It's been a tough and very long winter!
  12. Wow Moose! I have never seen a 1950 T&C "steel" wagon. I have a 50 Royal wagon, and a 1950 T&C hardtop-none are as rare as that 1950 steel wagon! Those suspension /rear end and brake drums parts are the heavier duty 8 cylinder parts. Really hard to find too!
  13. Where is the rest of the car? Chrysler only made 599 of those "Royal" 6 cylinder woodie 4 door wagons. Bob
  14. The eaton 1350 series 2 speed rear ends were installed as an option in the 48-53 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 ton dodges. I have one in my dump bed 2-1/2 tonner. 5.83 is the hiway final ratio. 8.13 in low range. Not great but will do 55MPH. You could put in a more modern rear end or a brownie or ? The 5 speed dodge NP OD trans is as hard to find as a 610T radio. I have one in my dump. In the medium duty trucks this is a problem- How about a new V-8 drive train?
  15. I run 160 degree thermostats on my old MoPars. I have one in my 51 Plymouth that I rebuilt the engine back in 1968. It has about 70,000 on the engine. There is no sluge in the tappet chambers as about a year ago I did a valve adjustment on it. I do/did change the oil on a 3000 mile schedule and always used the same brand oil. Most all of my vehicles have rebuilt engines, and no sludge in any because of good oil changes and using the same brand of oil each change. I don't worry about the 160 degree thermostat and sludge. Bob
  16. Mexico and China... Thats where everything is made today-cheaply.
  17. I have my old Coats 10/10. Works great on all my old MoPar cars.
  18. I have used the higher quality copper expandable soft plugs in the flatheads. Never the rubber ones.
  19. Lee, I measured some of my sway bars. 1952 NewYorker-.750". 1950 Chrysler station wagon 6 cylinder-.750". 1950 T&C .760". 1952 plymouth .690", and a sway bar off a 51 Saratoga hemi car .690" I also went through the MoPar parts books and they show all 1949-52 dodge deSoto and Chrysler all take the same sway bar which I know is incorrect. Any 1950 up to 1952 Station wagon and any NewYorker /Imperial 8 cylinder inline "8" or Hemi car will have the heavier .750" heavy sway bar. Is yours the .690" bar?
  20. How deep are the cracks? The casting needs to be pre-heated and prepped properly. You need to be a skilled welder to do a professional job. Manifolds are not too hard or expensive to find. I'd replace it. Bob
  21. 6 bladed fans were what were used on the bigger trucks and 1953 and up plymouths ect. Fan shrouds are used on all the inline 8 cylinder Chrysler flatheads,. as were the 1951 and up Hemi Chryslers.
  22. Told you you could do it!
  23. I think that "Classic" car lot needs to get some better inventory!
  24. Just heard on the news Google G-Mail had a problem today. Peoples accounts got emptied/changed by some bug. Google promises to get everyones E mail account back up and like it was!
  25. Joe, I think the timing cover kept the chain on!
