  1. The 504 heater is a OE accessory heater for the B series trucks! Pretty rare to see one I guess.
  2. Here are some pics of maybe what you have. Maybe that special spring broke? Bob
  3. Any pictures or part # of this Napa piece Ed ? It rally should be installed if OE isn't available. Bob
  4. Here are a couple pictures of the correct MoPar thermostat and rubber seal gasket assembly for a 50 Chrysler 6 or 8. Also shown is the housing the T-stat fits tightly into.Thermostat housing is sealed to the head with a normal paper gasket. Bob
  5. The 2nd link above refers to the more updated modern "Fluid Torque Drive" torque converter. It came about in 1951 on the Chrysler Hemi cars as an option. It is a true torque converter- not a fluid coupling as in the regular 1950 Chrysler. The fluid in FTD should be changed out as the factory manual states. In early 1951 this a huge 10-12 quart oil change. In 1952 the design was simplified and had a regular oil pan sump requiring less oil to change out and much easier to change the fluid. The M-6 trans was still the same design but a different ratio gear set for the FTD. 10W oil in it as before to change out. Bob .
  6. 1949-50 Chryslers have a really nice dash layout.
  7. Very nice original car! I say no to changing the Fluid Coupling oil! If it works good leave it. 1950 model years had two types of FD seals. It can be risky to change the fluid as the graphite seal and bellows possibly could leak after the fluid change. I'm not saying it will but have seen this happen more than once. JMO. I have a few 1946-52 Chryslers myself and they are all M5/6 transmissions both 6 and 8 cylinder cars . I really like em too! How nice is the steering wheel? Bob
  8. I looked in the 1988 Napa master parts brake book. Front 10" bonded shoes are # B97's. Rear 11" are #B44. Each # is a set of 4 shoes. These generally are for 1948-53 Dodge 1/2 tons. See if the Napa kid can do anything with these old numbers or get a good counter guy with lotsa experience- otherwise have em relined. Bob
  9. Your drums should be 10".
  10. Is the lower part of the block clear of cooling system sludge? Sounds like a restriction of coolant flow- could be caused by radiator/block or thermostat problem. This 1950 Windsor engine was over heating because of a clogged radiator and block.
  11. "Ellis" would be the name. Bob
  12. I got this one at a swap meet a number of years ago. It's a old stock deflector.
  13. That spur gear 4 speed should work just fine as is!
  14. The 2 piece mirror shown appears to be a Western auto or some other after market mirror. Didn't the 1946-8 P-15 cars use a optional 1 piece "Swan Neck" MoPar mirror with 2 studs and nuts that are hidden to fasten the mirror to the cowl in place of the stainless trim moulding? Dodge /DeSoto and Chrysler Swan Neck mirrors looked similar but used Phillips Fillister head screws to fasten the mirror to the cowl. Bob
  15. Late 1950-53 Dodge 3-4 ton trucks all had twin carbs and exhaust. They are a Nickel-Chrome Moly heavy industrial type of engine. 30" head length. No interchange of parts at all with a smaller 25" engine. Bob
  16. Steele Rubber Products all the way!
  17. 1941-7 Dodge truck spur gear 4 speeds have the shifter shaft centered in the top housing cover as shown. Later B-series have the shifter shaft pushed to the front of the top cover on most all models except FD. Bob
  18. There is a protective metal heat shield to prevent the glass from damage. Bob
  19. The Non-Fluid Drive 4 speed Transmission shifter is in the forward position too.
  20. Another cool one on my Chrysler.
  21. Here's another shot of a deflector... but... her leg is in the way of it..
  22. Any of You Have " Old Man" Exhaust Defectors? Lets see them, here is one of mine...
  23. The steel piece is part of the 3 speed shift linkage at the steering column. The strap is a battery hold down for a Yugo. Bob
  24. The R7 OD's are controlled mechanically as to when they go into OD-cut in speed at 25 MPH. There is a screw accessed through the case and by adjusting the clutch pawl springs you can change the OD cut in set speed. These adjustments normally never need to be done. Bob
  25. The bigger core plug is a 1-5/8" size- OE is brass, the smaller ones are 1-3/8" size. Bob
