I`ve had my two trucks for many years and the 2 rivits on each fender are both original and rust free on both trucks---- only because I packed grease or cosmoline inside the areas that are prone to rust out! Inside of doors, wheel splash areas ect. The trucks both came from dry climates. I do this on some of my cars too. Messy but stops the rust forever! Bob
  2. Thats correct, a 230 with the 1946-50 chrysler 323 ci. inline 8 --10" clutch disc and cover were used on the "Truck-O-Matic". Bob
  3. I had a 1953 Dodge "Truck-O-Matic" truck with the M-6, same trans and fluid coupling as a car M-6.The fluid drive units used in the trucks are the same ones as used W/ the Chrysler staight 8`s,1946-1950. Heavier duty fluid coupling! Bob
  4. Yep, Had a coil blow! I went to get a Rainier beer and and left the key on in the ole "Slash" truck for about 30 minutes and then heard this loud firecracker explosion and Damit, the coil blew up, scared the wild chickens out of me!!. Now I`m more careful to only drink 3 "rainier beers" between slash loads!! Bob.
  5. I just use a 13/16 open end wrench with a hammer to knock the C-clips off, done it that way for 30 years! Bob
  6. Torque sticks loose there calibration too! Torque wrenhes are the best way to go and thats if they are recalibrated as required. Snapon Mac ect!! Bob
  7. Just think what would have happened with the "Good Deal $29.95" tune up. Should always go to a reputable shop for proper repair work! Bob
  8. Try Neil @ seaplym@hotmail.com . He sells on Ebay and has the grommets for the p-15`s. Maybe he has the grommets for the trucks too. Bob
  9. Send the vin tag info off the drivers pillar as to if it`t a B3/4- R,T,V-Y series ect. I might have a master cylinder for you. Bob
  10. You might think to rotate the crank back and forth to check for a sloppy timing chain, causing slow valve timing. Watch the rotor to see if it is tight to crankshaft forward and backward movement of the crank. Bob
