  1. I may be wrong but I believe the wheel would need 15 holes, 5 for mounting the tire...10 for the clips...
  2. we all be mortal.......I would like to get a few things done but we never know our fate....we just live the best we can....I feel for his family and friends....loss of a loved one or good friend is never easy. It would be good for all of us to say thanks for what we have...nothing is forever.
  3. it only take a couple minutes on the average to bush this if you really looking to fix things.....or buy a new one if that is above your level of intervention or even better in my opinion, use an electric pump. Somewhere you either concede to work/replacement or upgrade if you wish to correct age related issues. I can see reluctance in a couple of the above if this is a judged for points vehicle. Even so an electric can be out of sight, the original pump gutted and sealed to allow flow through of fuel and no one would be the wiser.
  4. where is the fun it that.................????
  5. you would be surprised how a set of wheels will steer a build.......
  6. the problem still exist where these folks claim to be doing a restore using same said tactics and pass it along to an unsuspecting buyer who assumes the guy's heart and soul was in the build....corners are cut so quick these days.....flippers are out for gold...not a gold record.
  7. well, lets say this about that.... Top 18 Tie Rod End OEM Manufacturers in 2020 - MZW Motor Where are Moog parts made? The answer may surprise you! | Suspension.com you can run a check on your favs.....AC Delco, Motorcraft, Dana Spicer.... These parts are now outsourced to many countries for just about every major name we have ever known. IF according to most folks you get the part in the original box with the brand name thereon....you getting good parts....getting these loose, no packaging or names attached....yeah maybe a lower line product....but made in USA....sorry guys this is about a thing of the past...called competition...you can only stay in business if you can sell affordably. The makers to the retailers....they are supplied by the mother company from whatever country of origin they deal has to deliver at the time of call for parts.
  8. it was enough to remind me that I had not yet bought a metric thread file......so for me it was a win win......?
  9. I thought we were speaking of external....he said bolt...not nut thus my reply
  10. done and done.....should be here July 14 USA made product....
  11. get a thread file...... ALLSTAR PERFORMANCE Thread File 9/10/12/16/ 20/27/28/32 TPI 11038 | eBay no shop should be without one but I admit I do not yet own a metric variety.....need to get one on order.
  12. yes....nothing in stone but King Authors sword......
  13. my apologies.....my reference book was wrong and seems to have been for 8 years after that running change was made with no correction.....I have done a pen and ink change to my reference manual to reflect the correct carb listing.
  14. that just shot a big hole in the Motors manual data for the era as listed in their application chart carburetor section......lol.....but does explain why I could not find an AAV kit for the 48......
  15. actually you could verify this by removing the air cleaner and looking at numbers on your carb......
  16. no hands on this model but per my manual here at the house on the L8 Chrysler of this year....the carb is spec'ed at being a Stromberg AAV
  17. JOKE....JOKE....JOKE.......Nothing for sale here, move along Betty....
  18. the rims pictured are not the size stated and calling about to get a matching rim by your means of measuring will get you the incorrect rims yet again. Rim widths are measured inside rim flange, bead to bead...record your measurements there to ensure you inquire of the correct width when doing your search. Staggered wheels are common on many muscle cars....don't want to mix and match these per axle...keep them same size on each axle. Wider application on a stagger is the rear....rotating tires can cause a bit of odd look maybe.
  19. look out for that 'lien' hopefully was an oversite....some folks say I am cynical.....it is not cynical when you KNOW they are out to get you...the word cynical used in that manner is just another word for EXPERIENCE
  20. way back in the day I also owned and drove a VW transporter.....those drop down sides for instant flatbed....I am surprised this did not catch on with other makers....totally versatile (European lorry design I guess) That thing would also travel over about any road (non-road) conditions.....it was quite the fun beast when I was young
  21. sometimes these are the famous last words......
  22. send me a bag of them acorns.......? (PS will need a mixture of left and right and front and rear acorns)
  23. Unfortunately with some sellers you have not option on carriers. DHL handed my last item off to FedEx in norther Ga as that was their closest hub. The biggest problem is dealing not with individuals on e-bay but with businesses on e-bay...seems the like to do at best pickup twice a week. I still think e-bay is wrong to allow a shipper to meet his time frame by creating a label....shipping update to e-bay needs be triggered by the carrier for tracking the sellers response to business transactions. I guarantee you they have you money in matter of seconds.....
  24. progress......everyone likes that in a project.....that frame looks more like it should be for the style body....hard for me to imagine the fit before your mods...
  25. there is a lot to be said for a car you intend to drive be painted nicely but if you pay too much money on paint...it is super nice...your willingness to drive it and park it near any other vehicle quickly takes the fun out of driving the beast due to fears and worry. I know not everyone has the time, place or facility to spray their own cars....skill set can be learned all few are natural born to do X jobs but I believe born with a slant toward better than some at X jobs.....the not having the facility and or taking the time to do this yourself is a shame in part because it is a rewarding experience. Materials....cost can be on the lower side as most body shop work with products that will be sprayed and worked some 10 minutes later...this are higher priced but really not any better except in turnaround time....you however are not pressed by their in by 8 out by 5 insurance driven schedule.
