  1. did he just remove them or did he replace them with something else?
  2. looks like I should have cleaned up the springs before I reinstalled them
  3. there is a clamp that holds the bar and bushing to the lower control arm I had a piece of hard rubber that I squared off with a belt sander for the end bushings. for the center bushings I just reinstalled the original supports as i did not see an easy solution and they were in better shape than the end bushings.

  12. Good Luck! Cheyenne was an over night stop several years back, was interesting to see the variety of vehicles and hear their stories.
  13. a quick RPM to MPH calculation says says a engine RPM of 4000 (I would assume the upper limit of these flat heads) 3.91 final drive(1-1 transmission final drive and 3.91 rear end gearing), and a 28 in tall tire would net a top speed of 85.2 miles per hour. A taller tire would increase this, a lower final drive(bigger numerically) would decrease it. dodgeb4ya's example above tire 8.20x15 is 29.56 tall, 3.36 final drive, 80 mph engine would have been 3057 RPM. I would assume a very reasonable RPM for extended time.

  18. I disagree My 51 also does not have the armored cable. and I know the switch is original as my dad purchased the car new so, im only the second owner. AND the wiring harness I purchased from RI wire fit without modifications and did not have the armored cable nor was it an option from RI wire
  19. of the three brands commonly discussed here, scarebird, ECI ,and rusty hope, rusty hope is the only one that would say for sure their kit would work on the stock 15" wheels on my 51 Cranbrook. The other two stated minimum 16". I used the rustyhope kit and have had no issues with operation. I should also state I used an ECI kit for the master cylinder as rusty hope did not offer a dual reservoir master cylinder kit. in choosing the ECI master cylinder kit they were very helpful in telling me which master cylinder to use based on the calipers and the original rear drum wheel cylinder combination.
