During WW2 lots of universities repurposed themselves to provide technical training for the military. If they did that during WW1 too, then it would explain the military uniforms and the U of M caption. Quote

Those are WW-1 uniforms,and I am not trying to be snotty,but soldiers are not what comes to mind when people think of "UM" students. Especially during war time,when college students are exempt from the draft. Quote
