Brent B3B
See if Tim will let Sakura stay over your place for the winter. Problem solved, No dryer sheets required. Hank Mark aren't you thankful the forum is so supportive with so many good suggestions ? holy cow! i thought that was Waylon Jennings
Merle Coggins
I don't think that would work, Hank, as Sakura is at that great Hawk House in the sky.
Barry Maxwell
holy cow! i thought that was Waylon Jennings [/quote If you put a black hat on him,a flying W around his neck and a guitar in his hand, he would look similar to Waylon. Unfortunately Waylon died in 2002 in Ariz. Bummer!!

Seems Lyle Alzado comes up a lot.....lol 48D Sakura on her favorite truck Sakura becoming the free flying badass I loved so much

Jeff Balazs
You must be too young to remember Mighty Mouse. As I recall he never let a bird best him. Or anything else for that matter. That battle has been going on for ages and there are still plenty of mice. Don't make the mistake of ever counting them out. You probably ought to check on the truck a few times this winter. Not trying to make you paranoid or anything........just saying. Ratfink. ps your truck looks delicious!!!!

Don Coatney
Mighty Mouse ranked right up there with Sky King https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoXkgIsIiQE
Plymouthy Adams
Sky King..watched that a bit...Mighty Mouse...never..! Did not care for the rat or the show that hosted the cartoons...and it was possible Mighty Mouse may have had more social redeeming quality over Mickey..but both mice could have a trap bail break their neck and I would not have missed them.. Don Coatney
Plymouthy I know that deep down you are a squirrely fan of Princess Sally Acorn.
Jeff Balazs
I don't know about any socially redeeming qualities? I was just picturing one of those dryer sheets as a mouse cape ? As far as cartoons go I have a real soft spot for Looney Tunes. Met Mel Blanc back in the 70's and he was a terrific talent. Lived in Corona Del Mar for several years and got to hang out with Chuck Jones and some of the other animators. Never met funnier fellows. They could tell jokes and stories for hours and never repeat a one. Great guy's one and all. I suppose they are all about gone now. If I have to name my favorite it is going to be Bugs Bunny.....I kinda identify with that wise a$$ wabbit.
Plymouthy Adams
you will not find a bigger fan of the older toons than myself...but I also have a few that that I do not like...Mickey and Mighty just happened to be two that top my list...I still like the older cartoons....you may have to grow old but growing up is still optional....Captain Kangaroo and Mr Rodgers was two programs that I did not watch....two sweet and syrupy sappy for my liking...nothing like Elmer yelling...'KILL DE WRABBIT" Edited November 22, 2014 by Plymouthy Adams
Jeff Balazs
Plymouthy; I was trying to paint a picture of the potentially terrifying results of counting on dryer sheet to stop mice. Who better than Mighty Mouse? Just imagine the look on Marks face as he opens the garage door after a long winter....only to find mice are zooming around in his truck. As far as the period Kiddie shows goes my favorite was Soupy Sales. White Fang was and still is the greatest character ever. "Raa-a Raa-a" to you. Plymouthy Adams
Soupy Sales...I remember him and I also remember walking away from the TV set when his show was on little a bit over the edge for my young rational mind at the time......as for the mice flying around in dryer sheet capes..I see the magical picture...but give me Moose and Squirrel..what a team...a flying rodent and a strong armed (short on brains) launching system
Jeff Balazs
I had not thought about the squirrel......that would have been appropriate as Frostbite Falls could not be too far away. Soupy was way ahead of his time and a bit out there. Jeff
pflaming
Before and after school I gathered eggs at age 5 and milked cows and fed bucket calves at age 7. We didn't get TV til '58 so I missed all these shows. However, I do recall The Lone Ranger, Only the Shadow Knows, Dennis Day, Charlie McCarthy, Amos and Andy, to name a few. All radio shows. Oh yes and Buster Brown. . . . Edited November 28, 2014 by pflaming

48Dodger
And back to talking about truck.... Buzz kill.....I was gonnna mention The Spirit, and The Phantom....but forget it now. Since the FEF is 99.9 percent done and being treated the way a nicely built should be treated....What is the one thing above all else you would have done different?...something that could save someone a bit of headache. 48D

Don Coatney
Devils advocate here, what is one thing you did best and like above all others?
ggdad1951
would have done different: 1. read the directions on the POR15 better...I didn't put the top coat on when the silver was tacky, so it tends to flake off. Put on correctly/right time, the top coat is on there forever. 2. not over reacted so much on some things (the brake cylinder leak comes to mind). STOP, RESEARCH and THINK thru the issue before freaking out. do not like: top speed being low (but probably a good thing for his size/weight and stopping power Do not like OE: location of the MC, certain bolt locations (hidden ones behind the door for the front fender) Did best: not to sound egotistical, but my desire to stay true to stock to the point of remaking parts to be "stock"
Dodgeb4ya
I'm proud of you mark for keeping the truck stock! Seems like no one does that anymore. As for top speed....My truck is a 4.3 and I drive at 50-55 and thats that. I stay to the right on the freeway and too bad for the hard ass get out of the way I need to be in front types. And where I live I have plenty of roads that let me drive 40-45 all day long. Thats what makes me enjoy my 1 ton. As for things that I don't like-one.... the screechy brake and clutch pedal noise.. it's the worst issue with these trucks. To fix it the right way it is a huge difficult .job. Bob Bob I am really curious. What clutch pedal noise are you talking about? I wasn't even aware there was a potential issue with this. Mine is nice and quiet and is one of the sweetest clutches I ever had the pleasure of driving. Jeff
