Greg, that is a sure sign they say..here in middle Georgia this past weekend and even this evening we have had flocks and flocks of the Canadian geese flying overhead going north...I love the sound of them as they go over...not long back there was a whole passle of them resting on an updraft quite some height overhead...honking and such without so much as a flap of the wings..I do not however want the messy things anywhere on or near my place in number..seeing them in passing is quite enough..

Well He's darn right for here, as on Feb2, Manitoba Merv saw his shadow, 6 more weeks of winter.

Heck it is winter here every year till at least March 15th.

Now last week in Winnipeg, I saw a tree with about 20 crows, alas the Rodent is wrong. But found out, crows winter up here, as of the last 20 years, at least some do.

This weekend, and for march 1st, temp like down to -10 at night, ouch, where is the justice

Greg,

We've had Robins coming back for several weeks here in Northern Colorado. Not a lot of them but their numbers are increasing daily. It wouldn't surprise me to hear of a few "scouts" getting up your way.

Last Friday, I spotted a couple of land sharks on Ocean Blvd, near the court house...I swerved but missed 'em....:P

Say what Brother, ever see a Flock of Flying Turtles over the San Gabriel mountains by chance...LOL

Gaggel, not passel. Dont crow this up with a murder.

Flock, or at times a Murder for crows. Geese are a gaggle.

Besides I always consult my caterpillar's for long term forecasts.

We regularly get a huge wet snowstorm on the May 24th long weekend (Victoria Day up here) so winter's a long long way from over no matter what the rodent see's :(

I always say Southern Alberta gets nice winters, but Southern Manitoba gets nicer and much hotter humid Summers.

It has never snowed to any accumulation in the Winnipeg Manitoba capital region in June, July or August, but have seen freak snows in May, and the odd flurry at the end of September.

We usually put in all bedding plants, flowers, tomatoe, pepper plants, and gardens in around May 15th, but most people do it May long weekend

I can remember sitting on my Grandmother's front porch on July 4, 1961 watching the Fourth of July Parade bundled up in a blanket because of snow flurries.

At the time we lived in the northeast corner of NY approx 3 miles south of the NY-Quebec border and approx 20 or so miles west of Vermont

I'll tell ya what, the local rodent prognosticator is on borrowed time for messing with my head and teasing about spring. This week has been one lousy weather day after the next. And I know where he lives. I've been to his place...........Tim

You are right. Winter is supposed to be over, even using the Canadian rodent. It is time for Operation Rodent. Let's get those guys and make them sit out in the cold and snow! Spring...........my a**!

Hey, the rodent was right in our locale, at least 6 weeks more winter as of Feb 2 2011.

It is friggin cold today, IMHO, even though it was about 15 above f, still pulled out the 47, swept the floor.

Took a pic of myself with the car, both cold and waiting for spring, Northerners, have to do something to fight off cabin fever......LOL
