aero3113 Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Look what someone did to this wagon http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1956-PLYMOUTH-SPORT-SUBURBAN-WAGON-4X4-1991-CHEVY-CHAS-/230586308499?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item35b003d793 Quote
TodFitch Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I wonder where in Mississippi he found the snow to take those pictures. While I've never been in that state, I'm under the impression that snow would be an unusual weather phenomena there. Quote
55 Fargo Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 This might not be so bad,if done up nicely, not what I would do, but this could b ea very cool rig to have up North here..... Quote
busycoupe Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 It looks like he had a Plymouth wagon that didn't run and a Chevy that needed a body. - A marriage of convenience! It is interesting that the length of the wheelbase is close to correct for the wagon. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Uh, that snow was somewhere close to the woods in Miss. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I don't know about the rest of the world, but that ain't street legal here in Indiany. I the the ugly police would probably impound it also. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 looks like more than the temp has dropped below zero to me...!!!! Quote
windsor8 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 It could always removed from the 4x4 chassis. Quote
greg g Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Its the rarest of the rare a "Shooting Brake", for the shooting sports family. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Now THAT is an example of what wouldn't qualify for antique auto insurance..... Quote
Young Ed Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 It could always removed from the 4x4 chassis. And it'd be really easy to inspect the rockers and floor before buying...... makes me wonder if the wagon chassis would be the same as something more common like a 4dr? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Ed..I think the chassis were all the same for that year..they started that trend in 1953..only difference is the body mounting..the chassis are pre drilled for all supports..and get installed on the chassis where needed for the associated body being fitted. As for going back to the original frame..yeah..should be doable....as for shooting brake..yeah Greg, a dog box would be right at home and dead-on theme with the 'thing' in question. It's a redneck thing I guess..there is a Honda DL sitting about 3 miles from my house that is about 5 foot off the ground, super mudders etc etc..the ole adage "it takes all kinds" is working overtime here... austinsailor Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 >I don't know about the rest of the world, but that ain't street > legal here in Indiany I'm curious why, if you are serious. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 It wouldnt be legal here either. Bumpers are too far off the ground. Quote
