T120 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 ..They shouldn't publish surveys like this..... "Not sure where your state ranks? Check out the list below — and make a New Year's resolution to move somewhere in the top ten:" Quote
Young Ed Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Woohoo I'm in #1 in the second 1/2 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I am very content to be in the middle..less error on a mood swing either way... Quote
TodFitch Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 So should I be unhappy because I live in California (ranked 46 out of 50 states) or happy because I live in California's 14th congressional district (ranked 1st in the nation). These polls are entertaining but I don't think they have any real value: Your happiness is mostly up to you and your own personality. Quote
martybose Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 there must be something in the water, because I wouldn't want to move to any of the top ten! Marty Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Here in Tennessee we happily turn water into shine:D Quote
1940plymouth Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I live in #51 with #'s 50 and 49 bordering me, not a good sign by any means Quote
T120 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 ...I suppose a person should be careful when bragging how happy they are in the area where they live,or they may find themslves inundated with unhappy migrants as neighbors Quote
Tony Cipponeri Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I am going to move in with Don, and try some of that shine, I KNOW that I will be happy than. Tony c Quote
james curl Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Hard to believe Texas ranks #16 because we rank in the top 40s in public education and Public services. I think I read we were #48 in insurance for children and unemployment benefits. Quote
slicknapier Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I'm #5, they must have taken this survey in the winter, not when it's 110 degrees in the summer! Quote
greg g Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Providing a foundation for the rest to build on. Excelsior. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Whatever zip code I happen to be in, I'm so $%#@!!! happy I can't *$#!!#$#&@! stand myself. Quote
Normspeed Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Zip codes? Out here in #24 they just drop all the incoming mail at the state line and we have to go find ours. We like it that way. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Posted December 19, 2009 Here's my take on this. If you live in the top rated states, you have no where to go except down. If you live in the bottom rated states, you have no where to go except up. But.....for those of us in the middle. Well........we just stay happy all the time.:D Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I live in the state of eutopia, where ever I am is the happiest place to be:D The best way to find out if your happy is to look to the left of you and to the right of you. Depending on what you see (wife) (mother-in-law) you can gauge your level of happiness. As the three stogies once said " Spread out ..I'm broadcasting. I'm gonna have a good time or I'll kill myself. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Whatever zip code I happen to be in, I'm so $%#@!!! happy I can't *$#!!#$#&@! stand myself. I'm with you joe:o Quote
David Maxwell Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 ...so I'm gonna have to hop in my P15 and take a little cruise on the cilly winter day. Brrrrrr..... it's at least down to 70 out there.. So should I be unhappy because I live in California (ranked 46 out of 50 states) or happy because I live in California's 14th congressional district (ranked 1st in the nation). These polls are entertaining but I don't think they have any real value: Your happiness is mostly up to you and your own personality. Plymouthy Adams Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) it is good that you enjoy it while you can..one never knows when you will go from 70 degree to 70 below sea level when California breaks off into the Pacific..that is if you don't slide into the ocean in a pile of mud...potential Nevada beachfront property for sale..get it while the cost is low.. this is not a prediction of impending doom..merely passing on the old joke.. Bobtjr(dale) Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 If I didn't know better I would say Don Coatney lived in New York AS he get"" grumpier by th day"" :>} lol Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Posted December 19, 2009 Tim, From what I understand, the east coasters aren't any better off than the west coasters as far as waiting for the big earthquake to come. Guess there is also a big fault line going up and down the east coast just like there is the west coast. Only difference is, it's not as active. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Poor ole Don lives right in line with the eastern fault...even if the east coast does not fall into the ocean..it still not gonna be pretty...the only place Ihave personally felt a tremor was in middle of Illionis...was on the second floor of a quite large building..wierd feeling for sure...maybe we will be ok till our next enounter with Marduk..(not the rock band by the way...) Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Posted December 19, 2009 Tim, in that case I guess we'll have to excuse Don being a Grumpy old Grinch. That would give him a reason to be that way.:D Quote
