  1. I had some difficulty but did get a power unit on the firewall..
  2. Oops.. I see there was page two.. You already got past the bracket installation. Looking good.
  3. The Scarebird plates that hold the calipers are left and right handed.. The holes have protrusions that make them so... Did you buy the master cylinder that mounts on the firewall ?
  4. Have you been slipping out in the garage on company time medium ? lol
  5. I used a 1999 Explorer with disc brakes on my 1946 Plymouth. Posi-traction with 3.72 ratio. Went well and by using the Explorer shock mount plates and reversing them the Plymouth shocks bolted right up... Had to buy new spring perches and left the old ones on to bolt the brake hose fittings to. Im using original 15 inch wheels so bought 1/4 inch wheel spacers to clear the calipers. Distance between tire and fender is just right. Hooked up a parking brake but its not working well. Have to re-figure that out.
  6. Left and right calipers are so the bleeder valve is in the up position I believe. Everything to change my 1946 to front disc came to $600 from Scarebird and NAPA.
  7. Help... Can the splash panels be removed on a 46-48 plymouth without removing the fenders ? THX
  8. My bad I didnt read it right..
  9. I dont think you meant 200 thousands...More like 20 thousands I suspect.
  10. Dont you have to put permatex on those bolt threads that go thru to the water jacket to stop them from leaking ?
  11. Another reason to install disc on the front.
  12. A complete brake job is the first order of business too. Those old lines can corrode from the inside.
  13. Looks like a spring replacement is in order.
  14. Do these thermometers work on Women also ? Hummm
  15. The door gap on a lift is normal...I had a near new 1964 Pontiac bonniville convert that when on a lift you couldnt close the doors....
  16. I had a 1955 Desoto Sportsman hardtop a few years back.. I know its MOPAR treason but I bought a 1977 Cadillas Coupe Deville today. Saw it at a car show and just had to have it.
  17. An alternator will bypass a ton of things that can go wrong with the charging system.. I think alot of the dislike of 6 volt systems is that the battery is half dead alot at least in Northern climates. One wire from the battery to the altinator and thats it. IMO

Wonder why they didnt have wood grain on the convertibles ?
  19. Aluminum radiators make a huge difference..
  20. Yes, great find Mark... I think the seats would look great getting sewed up. Bet a shop could recondition the leather.
  21. I might add that for painting the small black parts that Rustoleum makes a black appliance epoxy type paint in a spray can that dries really hard.
  22. Try bernbaum.. This is a formed hose with the right bends..
  23. Way back when we did this on more than one old Plymouth. If I remember correctly we used the original Plymouth trns. and everything hooked up the same as the Plymouth motor did but had to notch the frame to clear the crankshaft pulley and modify the radiator. ( turned it around and changed inlet and outlet I think ) Motor mounts and all that was the same. You wont need overdrive as we used to drive 75 all the time. We changed the pressure plate and clutch disc from a Dodge truck as they were more heavy duty for dragging. Remember cutting a hole in the manifold for dual hollywood mufflers. Those were the days.. LOL
  24. Jakubs English is better than my Polish....In response to Bobk post... Remember when Pontiac back in the 1960s or 70s had the straight six overhead cam motor they touted as a six that went around acting like a V-8 ? It also had a four barrel and I think used ethel gas. Wonder how that would be in an old P-15 swap.
