  1. Depends how close you state dmv looks at things. if they match title and body serial #'s. VPW sells repro serial plate one of them and a letter/number stamp set and your good to go
  2. I used Gabbiel 81147 shocks on my 48 b1d
  3. No the back of the seat does on tilt forward like some newer trucks . It does on my 48 because I have a seat from a powergiant in it.
  4. I have been using a bead roller from summit (made by woodward) and so far it is a good easy way to strength floors or add a some design to a piece of sheet metal . They recommended for 18 and smaller so not sure how it would preform on 16. I have used on some 20 gauge and it worked well. harbor freight and eastwood have similar items http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HCK-WFBR6/?rtype=10
  5. 1948 B1D Dump Truck
  6. Joe I have been watching your progress on the forum you have put a lot of work in it and it looksd good Ed
  7. Kanter has what they call a seat rebuilding kit in there catalog. http://www.kanter.com/content/ecatalog/00032.htm
  8. Yes there should be a glove box door and there was a battery box. Two other parts of this site to visit. The trucks side know as Pilot House Forum and DETCA http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/info/info.htm http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8
  9. Nice photos I also had a 60 or 61 falcon in high school was always breaking down I spent more time under it then in it. The wagon looks close to a 77 Impala I picked up last year got it from the original owners grandson runs great.
  10. not sure if the handle comes off that one but the one I have the shaft will accept a large socket and I can get most drums loose with a air gun
  11. Here is a link to a pto drawing on the VPW catalog scroll down a little. Yours should be similar http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/pdf/parts/20powertakeoff.pdf
  12. The pins for my 48 b1d were .79 I got a set from ebay for a good price but the napa number is 2621231 link if it works http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=NCP2621231_0185514172
  13. Not a real good auto tranny guy but does it drive or not move at all. With the klunk did you check the U joints they make noies when worn. Most of the automatics have a band adjustment that should be explained in the manual
  14. Wax is also used on exhaust manifold bolts along with a little prayer that they do not snap off. Just wondering if anyone has tried the other side of the coin a freeze product http://www.crcindustries.com/files/Freeze-Off%20Brochure.pdf
  15. Looking at the 3rd photo it looks like a hub on the front wheel so it may be a w300 there shoukl be or have been a tag on the inside rear of the drivers door with information on it model serial # and more. Looking at the bed it looks like it was a tow truck in a prevoius life. If its a w300 worth the 1K it should have dana 70's front and rear
  16. If it had a hoist on the back the third handle was to operate the PTO which come off on the right side . My 48B1D dump truck uses the a pto for the dump bed. In the photo you can see the flat iron handle is the dump handle for the pto; the emergency brake is also there but it is hard to see in the photo.
  17. The 1/2 -1 ton uses the same cab as the power wagons so if the windshield frames are in good condition you can get at least $300 for them. Not sure about the larger cabs
  18. No such thing as a bad time for a ride besides most of our cars have survived many winters I am sure they can take a few more.
  19. ebay tend to get silly prices because there is no fee to list. So sellers put it way over priced I think mostly to get someone to look and make the deal off ebay .
  20. I do not listen to a radio even in a modern car so I removed the radio from my 52 and have a delete plate to install. I think it gives the dash a less cluttered look then with the radio. I installed the original radio in another 52 I sold.
  21. Looking at the photo from the manual I think a hose from a old bicycle hand pump and a long valve stem would work. Maybe I could sell the on ebay as NOS (Not Old Stock)
  22. The original set up on 2 cars I owned had a wire attached the starter motor
  23. You should be able to post them in the photo gallery see link at the top menu bar.
  24. My 52 suburban has a 3.9 and driving 55-60 is not a problem. My B1d has either a 4.3 or 4.8 hard to read the number but should still do 50 - 55 once its on the road
  25. He has been trying to sell it for a long time so I guess he wants more then the buyers feel its worth. Since ebay does not charge to list a vehicle many times sellers put dream prices on their vehicles .
