    If you have good spark from the coil did you check the points and condenser. Try filing and resetting the points and cleaning and setting the plugs. Other suggestion is be sure you are not using the old gas
  2. Maybe a replacement engine. The engine in my 48 Pilot-House has no numbers on the engine # pad and a casting date in the early 60's. Mine had no other tags but sometimes you can find a rebuilders tag on the engine
  3. Why bother with the choke just remove it and go with a manual as it is a truck it had a hand choke originally. You can get a cable kit at NAPA
  4. As Joe said two holes with bolts in the exhaust manifold also need a gasket to insulate choke from the manifold heat, then a wire goes to the starter motor. No photo I had one on my a few cars but remove them and set up hand chokes . The should be a photo in the service manual jus do not have my manual with me right now.
  5. Are you losing brake fluid,check the inside of the wheel sometimes it will run down if its leaking bad. In any case pull the drum of before you go for another ride.

  10. If it is just a matter of getting the old rubber off to fit the rims in a box. Use a sawazall and cut the tires off.

  14. a 230 would also fit and they used these engines up until 1960 in dodge trucks also were used in some fork trucks and compressors keep looking you will find something that will work

  16. The new exhause manifold will fit but it exits in a different place a little further back then the 54 so you may have to rework your exhaust engine pipe
  17. I have had vehicles around late 1990's - 2000 done for a about $300 but if its a older vehicle it depends on the what vehicle and if the windshield is currently avaiable
  18. I use a product all brake kleen I think its made by crc
  19. As they are mechanical valves they will make some noise but if they are ticking a lot The valves may need to be adjusted. I use a multiweight 10-30 oil and find it is suffiecent fro my needs

  21. You may want to check the want ads to get a better idea of price but looking at the photo and in this economy I would guess maybe $1,500. It would help if you could get it running a good running engine always helps a sale
  22. I have always disliked the sidewards front wheel drive engine. Proud to say I have at least for now rid my self of that headache. My 3 daily drivers are a 77 Impala wagon,93 GMC G2500, 2000 s10
  23. Have you done a tune up ? Replaced old gas made sure you have correct battery cables (fat ones not the 12 volt style)
  24. Joe, you have had a lot of experience with floors maybe you should go into the floor repair business.
