  1. I have done a few vehicles using the napa lines but never measured the lines used, always think about it after job is done. I usually measure and figure what works best besides they do not always have the size you need in stock. On the trucks the only hard bend is the one coming off the mc I think VPW does sell that line prebent but with a little trial and error I got it to fit. Also be aware that in addition to metric the a stand thread that uses a bubble flare which will not work for you.
  2. Its amazing the old equipment that is still out there. As for auto chokes I just do not like them and wind up converting to a hand choke. That way if my vehicle gets me mad I can choke it
  3. Depending on what state you live in a incorrect vin# could be a problem. Do the numbers on title for the vehicle have match the plate on the door jam
  4. Scroll down at the link http://www40.addr.com/~merc583/mopar/framesets/referenceframeset.html
  5. I as recall that car is a work in progress but I think it will need some new tires once you get it on the road
  6. Harold there is a locksmith in Freehold boro I think it is B&E. He has made a few keys from cylinders for me (door for a model T, trunk key for a 52 Plymouth and a few others) Not sure how he does it but not to expensive I think $10-15 including the key its been a few years back ed
  7. Others will help you figure out the serial # however if there is a doubt in your mind that it is not the car for you pass it by there are more out there.
  8. As I already had a copy I ordered a returned existing stock copiy today. Figured I could use the extra $25 to renew my DPETCA membership http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/member/member.htm
  9. Good information.
  10. Not sure what format be here is a link to one online http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Plymouth/1948/index.htm
  11. I recently replaced a brake switch with one that I got from speedway. It is made by painless and does have a different set of pins but for $14.00 it comes with a adapter with slip connectors. Wires look to be more in the 12 volt size but no problems with the switch see below links http://images.speedwaymotors.com/RS/SR/Alternative/91031305~1_L.jpg http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Pressure-Brake-Switch,1971.html
  12. just taking a shot here but maybe the brake rod that goes to the dual mc may have not been long enough to push the fluid in the front reservoir.
  13. There should be a tag on the drivers door that will give you model and wheelbase with the 6 lug wheels it would be a 1 ton. Yes the doors will swap the vent windows were a option. Try the link below for some basic information http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm
  14. If you need to sell the parts best thing is to list them in the parts for sale section with a price you think is fair. Naturally the less you ask the faster the parts will move. List the engine parts in both the trucks and cars pars for sale sections.
  15. I get covers from a local chain type auto store relativly inexpensive about $ 70.00. For my truck I am presently using to older car covers one for the cab and one for the bed. But I think something that would cover a large suv should work for the complete truck .
  16. That is a good looking truck, even has nice hub caps
  17. That is a good looking truck and the original spare parts is a great find. As to the brakes I will repeat here a replay I made to another posting. Dealing with single cylinder master cylinders best option is to change every brake component. Its really a matter of safety no brakes you crash
  18. As the others said replace the lines I have done many with vehicles on jack stands. I also use preformed lines and a few extra couplings . Dealing with single cylinder master cylinders best option is to change every brake component. Its really a matter of safety no brakes you crash and that is a lot more expensive and time consuming.
  19. The repair manual does show the larger drum and longer lining for the 1 ton and the parts manual makes a reference to the 4 speed using the 21" lining.
  20. Its more then the bolt pattern its also the setback, center hole for hub and for the rears it would have to fit over a large drum I forget the exact size but something like 15 15-1/2" But if they do fit please post it
  21. Last year I had put up a poll about truck models got 91 replies see link below. Bob Koch who runs the DPETCA would have a number count on members but not sure how that would equate to actual trucks. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=18817&highlight=poll It would be great if there was a online regerestry like for some of the other Dodge trucks. http://www.t137.com/registry/display.php?serial=83902623
  22. The yahoo group type forums have a web only option where you can read it on the site and not have it emailed to you
  23. I installed one last year in the suburban it is the only pump I use but being lazy I hooked it up on the right inner fender and it pumps fine.
  24. There is a yahoo group about those trucks that is similar to this forum good advice and members see link below http://www.39-47dodgetrucks.com/
  25. Looks like a interesting auction good thing its not near me else i would have to go and buy something.
