  1. I like your mail box creative thinking and I would guess no one has one like it. Mail box smashing has seem to have died down the past few years. But a few years back I had a basically unbrakable mail box made out of some tough plastic type material. The mail box breakers evidentially got tired of there bat bouncing off it so the but a cable on it and pulled it out and dragged it down the block. I had to give them some credit they faced a change and found a way to solve it.
  2. I am pretty sure the wire companies like rhode island or ynz sell them but the price is not cheap
  3. Just tell them it's a rat rod and is for sale for $20,000 if they are interested in buying it
  4. Solved all the annoying calls and saved money. I got rid of my home phone and only use a cell. Unless you have a business or use a dial up for a computer (I'm on cable) why pay 2 phone bills.
  5. I sold a old set I had a while back they were aluminum.
  6. I do not want to get into this pissing contest but I grew up raised a family in NYC. I presently live in NJ and am well aware of the cost of life in the big ciy. I have bought and sold a # of mopars and the sad fact of life is no one is going to pay 33k for a p15 at least not a stock one. Now you take the same car and put ford or chevy on it and the price goes up . The point is if you sink a pile of cash in and think you are going to even break even forget it, So yes fix the car make it look good and enjoy it but forget about getting rich. Attached is a link to my cars past and present and if you add them all up they might add up to 33k. http://www.oldmopar.com/cars.html
  7. As others have stated a old hardware store or good auto parts should have them. VPW has them but not inexpensive at $8.00 for 4 nuts. Scroll down to the last page http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/pdf/parts/01engine.pdf
  8. I had a 49 P15 4 door body in good shape no real rust but needed to be restored. I had it about 5-6 years ,outside under cover past 2 years. It was one of those I am going to restore it some time but something else always came a long and it kept getting pushed back. Anyhow I sold it a few months ago and feel good about it. The car is going to someone who will restore it (I hope) I actually made a profit on it and now have some money to finish up some projects that were closer to being complete then the P15.
  9. Depends where you live so states check for the plate to match numbers to the title but where I am they do not look at the truck just process the title. There also should be a serial number on the frame I think on the left side near the front spring connection
  10. I would try a post on a ford truck forum and include a photo.
  11. I have to agree with you but some people and I have seen in at small shows and some cruise ins where someone shows up with a new high priced sports car and think its a classic because its expensive. I could be that same twisted line of thought. To me to be a classic it should be a minimum of 20 years old . But on a more positive note that should make almost all of us here a classic and there maybe even be a few antiques here.
  12. Not as old but I got this from a dealership that closed about a year ago. It was on the wall in the parts dept.
  13. I had a tank that was sealed and the material blocked some of the holes in the I would only get 2 -3 miles then it would die ,tried air but did not help had to take tank down and use a combination of carb cleaner and air to get it all clean. Took that tank down a few times 1st time I found the skelton of a mouse and thought that it was floating around and blocking the filter Other thought is the float in the carb or maybe needle valve could be hanging up shutting off gas flow so I would at also take a look at the carb
  14. I saw this over at the aaca site and just passing it along http://forums.aaca.org/f119/48-mopar-engine-transmission-266605.html
  15. There is a lot of basic info in the tech tips of the home page of this site and other good information but as many new members just read the forum they never go there. Maybe a sticky with a link to the menu of the home page would help

  22. Whoever is the executor of the estate will be given paper from the government where the deceased lived. With that document they can sign the deceased persons name and either transfer the title of sell the vehicle.

  24. No help on how to but some information on stripes I picked up a few years ago http://www.oldmopar.com/oldmopar/colorchart.html
  25. Not 100% sure but there may be a difference in the air cleaners as the p15 has the hand choke and the choke set up on the oppsite side may require more clearence then the newer style carbs with the automatic chokes
