  5. You have arrived at the right place but you may want to post on the car side p15-d24 forum to get a little more responses. I have owned 2 p15 and they are great cars. As to wiring if you plan to enter Plymouth culb sponsered meets you may want to go with a premade correct wiring harness but if you are looking to save some money then you can rewire with modern style wiring but you still need to use the correct gauge for 6 volt. I rewired a 52 plymouth a few years ago just replaced everything a wire at a time with new style wire. As to cleaning the bottom of the car I think you could wait on that for a while, 1st thing after a good tune up is to get the brakes in good working order. For now get a service and parts manual and read all the information on the home page of this web site use the menu on the left http://www40.addr.com/~merc583/mopar/framesets/welcomeframeset.html
  6. If it is a chance to work with and spend some time with your son the restore it. It does not matter if it gets done the memories it will create will be worth more then the money spent.
  7. I had to cut the drivers side for the seat handle but made it larger so I have easy access to remove the seat if I need to get at the sending unit, I did save the cutout pieces incase I or someone else wanted to return to a original seat
  8. The seat in my truck had the wrong bottom and also had a broken seat track. I have 60 power giant parts truck (for my 59 w200) and was able to use that seat as a replacement. It fits good and as a bonus the seat back tips froward giving me a little storage behind the seat.
  9. Does anyone have some napa or brake manufacture part number for the wheel cylinders. I prefer to at least try to get US made parts so using vendors is my last choice. It will be a month or so before I start working on the truck but would like to start to get some of the parts. Best I can tell from the parts manual the fronts are the same for the 3/4 and 1 ton. Could also use parts #'s for wheel seals and bearing but should be able to match that stuff up once I get it apart.
  10. I would like to see a photo of the brake set up if you have one. On the mc there should be some numbers I would copy them all or maybe just bring the whole mc to a chey dealer the parts guys should be able to figure it out. I find going there in person usually makes them more helpful just try to go when its not to busy.
  11. Is your truck basically stock and will the "dual chamber corvette style mc." replace the original single cylinder mc. As to the leaks ; If the flares on not damaged and all threads are good they should not leak. However if the corvette mc does not have same connection as your brake lines. It should have a cone shape that would fit the flare if not then you would need a adapter and I would think a local auto parts could supply that but it should have come with the kit. I do not think it would apply here but there are different types of flares used on lines. Standard flare like on you truck but there also is a bubble flare and then there are metric and standard threads on fittings
  12. Nice guy giving you a break or should I say brake on the tool.
  13. How much for the car without the lighter
  14. It sounds like it may have been use to ground the light for a better connection.
  15. Rich I sent a sticky request and included you in the pm Ed

  17. I guess it depends who is behind the badge. A few years back I as towing home a 52 plymouth the load shifted on the trailer and I was coming up to a big hill. I was at a sort of busy intersection but this needed to be fixed before I moved. While I was getting out to see what I had to do I see the flashing light and here comes a young cop I guess in his late 20's and says I have to move I am blocking traffic. He then notices what I have on the trailer and asks me about the car. He winds up helping me to reposition the car on the trailer. No ticket no problems.
  18. Parts stores are like restaurants its the cook or the parts man that makes the difference.
  19. Hopefully someone who knows the area will jump in but at the end of the NJ Turnpike there is a road I think its 13 or something like that it bypasses dc and goes over the Chesapeake bay to Virgina. I use to travel this going to Norfolk back when I was in the Navy. It was a easy drive but that was about 38 years ago.

  23. Not sure when the nylon bushing came out but around 59-60 there was a service bulletin that had recommended replacing the nylon with metal ones; so I would stay away from the nylon if at all possible.
