  1. The discussion below on trying to squeeze in a sock filter had me wondering. What is the difference in filtering between the sock and can type drop in filters.
  2. How could you not buy at that price its lower then scrap value and plenty of good parts. I have a standing deal that I buy my wife dinner when I get a new vehicle. So far this year its cost me 3 dinners
  3. So when are you going to bid on it ?
  4. They do come in different sizes the napa 1002 is about 1/4" shorter and not as wide then the 1011 I searched napa for sock filters. Also the non sock type drop in filters come in different sizes http://www.napaonline.com/NOLPPSE/(S(lmh4a3fuqi2nry45315eihrx))/Detail.aspx?R=FIL1002_0006473344

  7. How about a power wagon bus http://www.dodgepowerwagon.com/classifieds/templeman_120808_55bus.html
  8. I had a email from someone in Texas on another forum who wanted to buy my 52 suburban. I do not have it for sale and it was his 1st and only post on that site. Could have been someone who just wanted a car like it but it was a little strange.
  9. While not original they sell a rubber expanding plug that works well. I forget the actual name.
  10. I have used the felpro they can be purchased at napa or rockauto usually at a lower price. It has been about 2 years since I ordered on If you use rockauto here is a 5% discount code good unti 12/13/09 23310571946163
  11. Yes parts for the 59 are easier to get, many of the parts I can just put in the original mopar part # on the napa site and get a cross reference to their part #.
  12. A lot of good reference at this link scroll down to the parts list. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm
  13. I have a pinion seal leaking in a newer truck 59 w200 and have been deciding weather to change it or keep checking the fluid after you story I think I will keep checking the fluid for a while.
  14. Now that the numbers have been basically figured out what I think you have is a cool truck and what like to see a photo if you can post one
  15. Vintage power wagons shows 2 different sizes maybe give them a call http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/pdf/parts/09propellerchaft.pdf
  16. Reg, Thanks that is at least one part of the puzzle trying to figure where the replacement engine came from that is in the 48 b1d I recently acquired; still no id on the engine but at least have a answer on the oil tube Ed
  17. The oil breather fill tube in the photo any idea where its from. I have the same one in my 48 and it looks a little different the most of the 40's-50's I have seen.
  18. 2 numbers I have for the sock filter are a NAPA 1011 or wix 51011. You can order from rockauto under the part# tab put in wix 51011
  19. Sounds good I will have to call them for a quote
  20. Thanks,Ed so its not a wc that was just a guess as it was a little smaller. I will either make the bottom work or maybe as i said before see if the 60 d300 seat will fit.
  21. From the photos it looks like the back I have is correct but the bottom does not have the mounting holes and the seat is a little smaller maybe a seat from a wc. Thanks
  22. I have found that if you go to the napa online site and from the parts menu select there parts pro se catalog. You can match many common parts like wheel bearing, seals, cylinders etc by putting in the original mopars # and it will find the new napa parts. http://www.napaonline.com/NOLPPSE/(S(la55s155exvh4m45s4gsxe55))/Welcome.aspx
  23. There was a good thread on this a while back which I had booked marked as I will need to do the door panels on my suburban http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=13845&highlight=door+panel
  24. Yes I have the frame I am fairly sure the bottom is not correct and maybe the back also. In a few days I will do what I should have done in the 1st place and take a photo of the seats and see if anyone can id them. I am thinking about using a seat from a 60 d300 but need to take measurements to see how it will fit.
  25. Just to add to the confusion my truck has 6-4 K On the tag on the head do not see another number on the head. But my is a bit of a puzzle no #'s on the pad for the engine number and no casting number that make sense. For now I am going with a suggestion from the car side that it maybe a rebuilders block. I did find what I think is a part # 1484929
