  1. Not sure what caused that but they were originally silver. That one looks more like chrysler red which is more the v8 era(and what I painted the one in my project because having everything silver is boring)
  2. The red engine certainly speaks to the engine at least having been out of the car and something done to it. Hopefully they did a good job and you'll have a great runner
  3. It might. I'm not sure if they mimicked each other or not. I think those early ones were something like a 176
  4. 33-34 only for plymouth.
  5. 8.8 is the model # or style of the diff. I believe it comes from the measurement of the ring gear inside it.
  6. French lake is in MN and the starter issue only applies to the really early 6s with the exposed cylinder shape and no lower water jackets.
  7. Wms is wheel mounting surface. As brake width can vary you want to measure where the wheels actually attach to get a proper comparison. It's just harder to measure because you need to pull wheels and use straight edges to get a #
  8. At least you were a little more successful than I was. My report was returned with sorry we don't see anything wrong here.
  9. I think when you get into the later 50s trucks there were small and large windows for a while.
  10. That's kinda before my time but one of dads highschool buddies owned the citgo station and I mowed the grass there for a few summers.
  11. Sounds like you found Eric B.
  12. I did. The frame difference is probably something that changed with the redesign in 39.
  13. Wow dr demento flashback right there
  14. The strip caulk is a seal because in a mustang that tank is also the trunk floor.
  15. Just an arch and I enlarged it about an inch overall to clear the t5. Then welded a lip back to the edge like the original
  16. Check page 6. Pics of how I cut mine and enlarged the opening.
  17. That certainly looks like it would work. Be mindful of that lower edge if it's also the gas tank mount. I got a little wide on my cut with the saws all and had to do a little welding....
  18. I bought grease at Napa last summer that specifically called out speedometer cables on the package. The proper technique is to remove cable from car, clean liberally with brake clean or carb spray, and then grease the core as you feed it back into the outer housing. Not a pleasant job but the results of a quiet smooth speedometer are worth it.
  19. The 39-47 frames have an arch vs a hole but it's still too small. I cut about an inch off and then welded another strip on horizontally to reinforce the area. Check my turkey truck build thread for pics
  20. Anyone into random machinery and podcasts- Brian runs a great one.
  21. His mirror looks like something you'd see on the wall at a gas station to watch shoplifters. Maybe that will help with a source
  22. Agreed if I didn't know better I'd say you just bought it new.
  23. Unfortunately you can't really get all 3. Wide white wall radials get you the handling and the look but they are not cheap. You're looking around$200 a tire. You can get a radial with a skinny white wall for probably 1/2 to 1/3 that price.
  24. I used automotive carpet backing. Seems to match perfect
  25. Also are those recalled harbor freight stands or did you get them replaced?
