  1. How have any of us over 40 years old survived? Enjoyed the film though.
  2. If they still make them, resistor plugs often eliminated this problem in ancient times when you wanted to run non resistor wires
  3. My 2001 Chevrolet Astro has the original exhaust, at 184,000 miles. No one at the Astro website believes me. I did have to use clamps for manifolds to fix the connecting bolts to the muffler but still...
  4. I remember going to my first Chicago Show in about 1965 or so. Went with a friend and his Dad. I was so excited by the trip. I so loved cars and couldn't wait to get my Licence. I used to go to local Car shows for Classics until it seemed that I was either going to a used car lot(I am that Old) or a resto-mod convention.
  5. I wonder if anyone else has my take on new and newer cars. I find that I just cannot get enthused or even interested in any cars built in the last 30 years or so. I know new cars are better made, longer lasting, and more economical that most of the older cars. I just can't get excited by them. The last time I went to the Chicago show was 2003 and frankly I was sort of bored by the whole thing. Not meaning to hijack the thread(although I guess I am) I thought of this when I read the post.
  6. Very different and very nicely done.
  7. I am still in shock over $4500 for a rebuild. I thought the rebuild on my 2001 Astro AWD was outrageous($2600), now it seems like perhaps it's a bargain.
  8. My 1980 Plymouth Volare only has one outside mirror. The right side was an extra cost option.
  9. I suppose you have stopped saying that to the women as I am sure your ability to either duck or run has slowed throughout the years. However, P-15 is really nice.
  10. I owned one. That is the absolute truth.
  11. Sticky calipers? Sitting a lot can cause them to get sticky. I had this on a 2001 Astro that I only use mostly winter and some times this has happened. I just first pulled the calipers, and pads and then used a clamp to fully depress the pistons to the back of the caliper. Also could be bad flex hoses to the front calipers. They can fail internally and not release right away.
  12. What he said!
  13. We took our Grandsons on a similar trip at a Trolley Museum near Elgin, Illinois. They really enjoyed it. Glad you could do the same.
  14. A very beautiful example for sure. Hope you enjoy it a lot. Scotland is one of the few places outside the US that I always wanted to see.
  15. One of my Heros when I was a boy. A real man to look up to. One of the things we are lacking today.
  16. I will take a month of boring to a minute of snow.
  17. Every day is a new beginning
  18. I am 66 and got down to 43, whatever that really means.
  19. We are having our first snow as I write this(probably the same one Don is experiencing). I have always hated winter, even as a child I never wanted to go outside when it was cold. How the "bleep" I have continued to live here all my life is an enigma to me(other than natural stupidity)
  20. Very sorry to hear this bad news. Condolences to your family from ours.
  21. Enjoy the day everyone, don't talk Politics.
  22. I Like Packards, especially from about 46 to 55. Happy for you.(envious as well)
  23. I have noticed that my 52 Plymouth shifts very stiffly at the beginning of summer but as I drive it it seems to become better and better as the summer goes on.
  24. Only 67 years of service, what is this world coming too?
  25. I don't give them a vote on this.
