  1. Plan, Plan , Plan, then Life happens. Congrats to you both!!! And she likes dogs!!!!!
  2. Absolutely correct.
  3. I often remember a favorite phrase of a former Scouting Co-Leader of mine. "Never underestimate the power of fear as a positive motivator" Along those same vein where I work (a large national Amusement park) they have a new thing for us who work in the operations department. They want us to be much kinder and gentler in dealing with the guests who misbehave on our rides. We are ruining everyone's day by yelling at the ones who are endangering themselves and others by doing what ever they want instead of following the safety rules. I say to heck with that. Take control and keep it. I don't mean being rude or nasty but to keep people safe you need to let them know that you are in charge and responsible. If it irritates them some to be corrected, too da*n bad. I can only imagine what would be said if some Dodo stands up on a Coaster to show off and falls and gets hurt or worse. "Why did you let that happen?"would be the least of it. Children are just little barbarians who need to be taught to be civilized. You don't have to beat them or abuse them but they must be taught to face the consequences of their actions.
  4. Vienna All Beef is the best around here. And costs the most. Still if I am going to eat cased meat I want one that really tastes good.
  5. I freely admit that I no longer have an understanding of why people do what they do. I do realize that Monkey see, Monkey do is part of it. The way people are today is so different from how I grew up that I am beginning to fear for the security of Mankind. I know Old folks like me have always said the world is going to Hell in the Hand-basket but this time I fear we are right.
  6. i read in the latest Hemmings Classic car that Kanter is now offering one for late 50's to early 60's Chryslers. Maybe they might also have one for your model.
  7. I really enjoyed that article. Great work
  8. I often get my best short naps at stoplights. But that type of alarm to wake up must be a killer
  9. Sometimes one must just bite the bullet and pay. Sadly so...
  10. $11.00 to $15.00 is a lot of money for a quart of oil that might be used up fairly soon. I would make me seriously consider at least new rings after finding out which cylinder is smoking.
  11. I believe if your heart is not in the car, you really should consider selling it to someone who wants it and will devote the time to make it a good driver or show car or?. I sometimes feel that way about my 52, I often only put about 500 miles on it in a year. But for me it is still a car I like and want to keep. So far anyway. I often spend more time driving my 80 Volare. It needs little maintenance other than a once a year oil change or some other small bit of work. The 52 still after 12 years still need some extensive work to make it really a nice driver .
  12. I must admit I have never seen anyone carry a spare transmission before.
  13. A number of years ago I had a 1961 Rambler that had a very long tie rod end that had gone bad. I could not find one and When I couldn't I spoke to an old Welder near me. He told me to get a replacement rod for the other side(very available at that time) and he would cut the end off the new rod and weld the new part onto the old rod after cutting off the old part. He did this slowly(so as not to melt the plastic around the new tip) and when he finished the rod was as good as new. It lasted as long as I had the car(several years) without getting loose. Maybe something like this would work. I admit to not remembering exactly what the center link looks like without crawling under my 52 Plymouth.
  14. The Rich are Different from me.
  15. How about these folks. They post a lot on the AACA site and from what I read several members have used their service. Don't know about cost. I looked and they have several 1940 Dodge parts available. They are a Steering parts suppler and claim to be able to supply most parts for all cars. http://www.larescorp.com/
  16. Welcome. A Beautiful car for sure. Hope you have a lot of fun with it.
  17. On my 52 the right rear turn signal doesn't work. Once did, now not. Brake and tail lights work. Ground good. probably a broken wire. You might want to check into that with a continuity tester.
  18. Great times for all concerned
  19. I would think that the cost of repairing such a short line would be much more that a replacement. Have you checked into a new line?
  20. Work hard and be successful. A good mantra. Wish you well
  21. After you get your degree and that $100,000 a year job then you can hire someone to do all the work! Oh, Wait....
  22. Maybe, but snow is finally gone here. Huzzah!!!!!
  23. And just last Sunday I saw one of the new Weinermobiles going south on the Tri-State tollway in northern Il. Got off headed toward Libertyville, Il.
  24. And Drives: What a Magnificent Polluter it is!
