What is the price of gas where you guys (ya'll ) live ? Varies between about $3.30 and $3.60 for 87 octane depending on where you are in my local area. But at 44 MPG on my "everyday car", which sits parked most times as I bicycle to work, it does not touch my budget very much. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Today here in the High Desert area of Calif it's $3.39, Yesterday in Las Vegas it was $3.19 and that was the cheep stuff. Dennis:cool: Quote

anthonyb Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Best I've seen recently was $2.86 for 87 octane. Not sure that's a valid number tho. Most places are $2.98 - $3.03. Quote
greg g Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 3.31 to 3.37 on our area, higher prices in more affluent areas. Quote
John Mulders Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Curacao : 1.94 Antillian Guilder for a liter. If a gallon is 3.79 liters that would make a gallon 4.06 $ In the Netherlands I know it is even more costly (1.50 Euro per liter). 5.68 Euro for a Gallon (US). That is 8.33 $ a gallon.... I know, they drive less and most car are less gasguzzlers. But of the 1.50 Euro per liter 70 cents are gas taxes and there is another 25 cents VAT...so 1.05 for the government... got to love it... I won't even mention the taxes on the new cars or should I ... 40% BPM - so 40% tax on the price as a special tax. Add that to the price and then pay 19% VAT over the total, yes you pay tax over tax.... John Quote

At those prices they could save $15 to $20 per tank with no customs duty on the return trip, depending on tank capacity. Quote

I know just south of here in Great Falls, Mont many of the merchants used to accept Canadian dollars at par when our dollar was worth less than the US dollar. US merchants are worried that the new passport regulations will put them out of business. Gotta watch out for those Canadian terrorists ya know:D Quote
