Maybe we did things different here in Oz with hood mascots? My 52 blue Desoto truck has the mascot pictured below. Our early Dodge trucks (48-51?) seemed to have the ram mascot, but my 53 Dodge coupe truck had one similar to my 52 Desoto truck. My 53 Fargo had the 'domed' world map mascot. It appears that our mascots had interchangeable pieces here which you could fit to the center of the mascot depending on the model of truck - there is one of these pieces pictured to the left of the 2nd attached photo. My 55 cream colored Desoto truck has a Hernando Desoto round badge on the front near the nosecone.

I like that one of yours with the big horns Moose - that's cool !!

Personally mate, I think it should have been a lamb not a ram, would have be more true to form on your portion of the globe. I guess a kangaroo, a wombat, or crikey,,an old crock would have worked out too

those two hood ornaments are similar, but not the same.  The one pictured on the Coronet has a tab on the tail end that the center chrome molding fits over, and that tab is not very aesthetically pleasing if it is not covered.  I found one of each and have them in my stash, don't know what I'm going to do with them yet as they are not show pieces.  One thought was to grind the molding tab off, epoxy the open end and paint it some snazzy color as the chrome on it is blistered...another some-day project

The first one I had on my truck was the car style, I replaced it as soon as I found the style I have now.

The unfinished end didn't look right.

I went rabbit hunting just before dark today and stopped and took a picture of 3 of my parts trucks. The only ram you see is that white crap. I really hate this winter.

That gets my vote for Ms. February in the Pilothouse 2015 Calendar !

Nice Shot !

It makes a great screen background...It's was something like 80 out today. Just looking at it cooled me off !

Hank now if you cleaned up your desktop of all those icons you'd actually be able to see the picture :)

I have about 20 icons on my desktop (I use most of them) and I keep getting a message from the guy inside my computer saying that I have unused icons and asking if I want to clean them up. Cant imagine having over 100. Makes me wonder what message I would get then :o

Ed,

I'll have to get out the Icon Shovel for sure!  119 does seem like a bad winter storm.
