Friday is  also "Squeeze Inn" day with Merle, et al.

We may end up with a later lunch at the Squeeze this year. I believe Michelle and I get in to Sacramento at around 10:30, but Mark doesn't arrive until round 1:30. Since I'll already be up there, and will have a rental car, I would gladly wait around for Mark and give him a ride south. But that wouldn't get us down to Galt until around 2:30-3:00. I'm sure we'll figure something out. Maybe Squeeze burgers for supper this year.

It looks like Chloe will be coming with me. Any one up north have an 11 year old daughter or granddaughter for her to play with on Saturday? We'd be coming to Tim's late afternoon and camp out. Possibly come via Yosemite, make full day of Friday.

I say get yourselfes settled at the hotel and let me pick up Mark.

2:30 - 3:00pm won't be to late.

If everyone shows up to help on friday, it'll be a good "end-O-the day" before the "Big Day".

3 hours is a long time to wait at the airport...and if there are delays? I say just your digs set and meet us at

The Squeeze later, Galt is only a 25 min drive from Lodi, if that's where you're staying.

With great regrets I have cancelled my trip to the planned Q. My wife and I have been talking for a long time about moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be closer to the grandkids. Last week we drove up to Fort Wayne for a few days with the intent of searching for a new home. We found one that was very much to our liking. Once we returned home this past Monday I applied for loan approval and it was accepted. I made financial arrangements to make an offer even though we had not yet placed our home on the market. And I then made an offer on the house in Fort Wayne. I was a day late and a few grand short so that deal fell through.

So this past Tuesday we elected to place our house on the market thinking that it should sell early in the summer and give us time to find another house. In the mean time we hade made reservations to fly to Sunny Florida for a week leaving early this morning. We signed the selling listing about 3:00 PM Tuesday. The listing agent is one sharp lady that Lisa used to work with. An hour after listing our house the phone started ringing. By ten Thursday morning we had 2 showings. By noon we had an offer for higher than our listing price. The only downfall was the buyers want to close and move in three weeks. So with regrets I have cancelled the Florida trip and the California trip. I must disassemble my shop in the garage and the rest of the personal stuff in the house and be out of here in 3 weeks with no place to go. I priced my house on the high end of the appraised value and higher than comparable houses that have sold recently. But I do wonder how much higher I should have gone.

Today I drove back up to Fort Wayne. I am parked in a hotel as I write this. Starting early in the morning I have scheduled 6 houses to look at and I may look at some more Sunday.

Having said all of that I am truly sorry that I cannot make the Q this year. I was very much looking forward to joining in the fun

I for one, certainly know the work involved to move out of a house and garage. So I understand, yet you will be missed.

My best wishes in this transition time.

We'll miss you Don, but we understand the situation and pray that everything will work out well for you and Lisa. Hopefully you won't be "homeless" during the transition. Good luck in your home search this weekend.

to whomever wanted the knobs....I will bring them to the BBQ, but I've misplaced the messages we exchanged, and I can't remember who wanted them....so....find me there!

I would assume you burned a few brain cells and forgot more then who wants your knob, (that didn't come out the way it sounded in my head)  when your gophers got spanked so bad.  Makes me proud to be a Wisconsonite.

B1G 10 champs is all I can say...they got spanked playing the goalie that played 2 games all season and short a power forward and had nothing to play for except not getting hurt...I'm sure we'll play the BADgers on Saturday....

isn't pitting animals against each other in sporting events against the law...I really do not think any gopher has a chance up against a badger...this sounds very inhumane...almost afraid to be discussing this in open forum...law might think I am a co-conspirator

Work days before the 4th: April 19, (Phoenix, AZ -20 - 24, need a quick rest) 25,26,27, 28, 29, 39 31, 1, 2, 3, = eleven (11) work days. Work to do: tune the engine and test it out, rewire (have kit and helper), two tires, glass (seals are here),  insulate the cab, seats (ready to go in), (Optional: wet sand the truck with 800 grit). then put it on a lift and give it a thorough safety check with focus on the brake lines.

Going to go for it! Want to bring Chloe with me.

Maybe do a bit of sanding if I have time.

Sand around the glass openings and prep them if needed before the glass is installed so it doesn't have to come back out again later.

Wow...really appreciating how smoothly everything went LAST YEAR! lol.

Getting a lot done, but still a bunch to do.

I have personal stuff to get out of the way, like a 1951 Chevy truck needs to be finished, taxes, and just the daily grind sort of thing.

Got Mark's room ready....got a second room ready.....so that's done. The dash plaques are not here yet, the wood for the fire pit is showing up tuesday, the B-1BQ is almost ready, the Banner isn't up yet, The trophies are delayed (AGAIN!) and the spraying of the weeds HAS to be done in the next few days for it to be any use for the big day!

Got another truck showing up...its a 1948 with a PGE Utility Box (west coast power company). Thanks goes to one of our own, Keven. I guess the guy bought a part from Kev on Ebay, needed something more, so Kev sent him to me since he only lived 20 miles away. Very cool. Thank you brother.

Its never been crazy putting this deal on, but this year is rattling my cage...lol. I think things will feel better when my buds from out of town start showing up. Wish you were gonna be here Don, but really I owe you a trip out there since you drove all the way across this great land of ours and pulled into my driveway! And Mark, my jersey is bought and on its way....geesh.

Merle, I feel like you're suspose to come out here every year now! Can't wait to hang out at "The Squeeze In"   :D

I'm pullin for you Paul....your truck is gonna be the hottest truck at the BBQ if you can just get it fired up and back on the road!! ^_^

WHOO....TWO PLUS WEEKS MORE TO GO!!!!

Should be a nice drive on out: Went from the Bay Area to Mammoth Lakes yesterday via California 88 up through Lockeford and Clements. Still some blossoms in the orchards and despite the lack of rain this winter the whole area is nice and green.

if I can "squeeze" it in I plan on trying to make every year from here on out.  It works pretty good with the Frozen Four being the following weekend so I can join the airfare up and save a coupla hundred that way.

I will miss the party for sure. Good news is I have a paid for plane ticket to California and back as my ticket was non refundable. Perhaps next year. The work you have to do is nothing compared to moving. I have been in this house for 14 years. I rented a dumpster to get rid of stuff no longer needed and it is over half full with 12 days to go before the move.

Man, I can hardly wait!  I was looking forward to meeting you, Don.  Maybe next year.  I'll be pulling out of my drive about 9 Saturday morning and I 've got 5 other confirmed trucks (Glen's tri-five Chevy; Rudy's '48 Ford; Charlie's Hemi B3; Ted's B3 and Bob's '50 Chevy) caravaning with me. I think John's coming again with his B3 flatbed.  Also, my neighbor might make it with his '56 Ford F100.  Good times are a comin'... :o

Bump.

Less than 2 weeks to go !!!

And it looks like the weather is messing with us again. The rains are here this week and seems to be

cloudy/clear on April 3rd. Haven't seen a report that goes as far as the 5th yet....got my fingers crossed!
