bkahler Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 The cutout on the blue panel is slightly different than the cutout on the red panel. Do I win the prize? Quote

You've seamed things slightly different between the two doors but the end result comes out the same. That's it, I've shot my wad...... 1 Quote
Brent B3B Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Must be a bad photo angle, I don’t see the strike and latch ? Quote
Veemoney Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 I don't see the 2 welds on the window uprights or maybe they are higher up. Quote

John-T-53 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) Both door inner panels appear to be swapped - right is now on the left, etc. As for the difference between the photos, the plywood that was sitting between the roll up and man doors is missing in the drivers side photo. ? Also, it looks cold outside. Edited February 10, 2022 by John-T-53 Quote

Los_Control Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 I was looking at this point here, curious what was mounted there in the past ... was different from the other side but not worth mentioning. Quote

That area had some spot welds to a bracket/gusset on the hinge support that lives on the front of the door. Oddly this B1 door (red) did not have that support bracket/gusset like the B2 door on the passenger side (yellow). Can see below where I had to add back panel material for the front window channel once the door was flexed into its new shape. 1 Quote

ggdad1951 Posted February 16, 2022 Author Report Posted February 16, 2022 Cut out the B1/2 inside door window sill details and replaces with bit from the donor doors for the project. I am especially proud of the driver side. No warp or heat deflection! Passenger side I got a little over zealous with the hammer and dolly in 2 spots prior to grinding the welds down. 1 Quote

ggdad1951 Posted February 22, 2022 Author Report Posted February 22, 2022 And now driver side...always funny that the 2nd time thru takes 1/8 the time! And seats at least set in the cab. Quote

ggdad1951 Posted March 4, 2022 Author Report Posted March 4, 2022 Front doors now latching. It's had to see the strike area but I welded in a 1/8" plate and blended to the jamb (some mud will help fill in the places that look ugly) and rounded and smoothed for a "original" look. 1 Quote
