My Wife found this truck for sale locally at Selkirk Manitoba.

Not bad shape at all, owner had sign asking $9000:eek:

What would someyou Guys think a truck in this condition would be worth. I would score it at 3- to 4;). Nice truck, could be a #3 easily, not sure if it is all stock or what,it's missing the Dodge badge up front.

one picture of the front..not enough to make any sound judgemnt on Fred..no interior shot, nothing under the hood..the undercarriage, bed condition, tires, brakes mechanicals..of course most of these would be over estimated by the seller..but nothing to base the 50% of what you see is the best it will get..

Yah I know Tim, will swing by later and take some pics, and see if owner is around....

your mission today is gather intel and report back..color glossy photos are not an option..its a must..

personally the first thing I would do would be chunk them butt ugly fender mounted lights..I don't care if they stock how utilitarian they are..like a pair of warts on the face of a supermodel..

I agree fully with Tim. Those lights are ugly, ugly, ugly...... but someone must like them, I sold the set I had on mine on "that auction site" for a bit of change........

I took mine off, so that tells you what I think of them. But really, they are from a different "time and Taste". I would think some folks might still like em....

the truck looked good without the addition of the lights..the super model looked good with the addition of the warts..hardly think she would have made super model status with the warts..here's a quarter, go downtown and get some rat to gnawl that thing off your face..

Here you go, This truck, is like I scored it, about a 3- to 4, decent form, rust coming through on door bottoms, nothing to drastic.

The bed is just an old sheet of plywood, tailgate still has "grain door". Some panel alignment has some to be desired.

I like the truck, would not pay this kinda money. It is stock, for the most part, flat head 6 standard, and stock rear diff.

You know what is really weird, this truck was once painted Caribbean Coral, then sky blue over that, just like mine was, too strange

I would say that's about a 4500-5000 depending on what mechanical upgrades or rebuilds have been done. My truck needs all it's bodywork still but with all the mechanical upgrades and changes I wouldn't let it go for less then $8000

I would say your pretty close, my estimate ws 4-5k on the high side

This rig definitely needs some TLC. The seller won't be sh*ttin' in high cotton like he thinks! Snip the price in half.

Nix the fender mounted lights!

In my book you guys are still being a bit generous..but supply and demand still is a factor to consider..what's with the one shot of the side profile..something just does not look right bed to cab aligment/chassis..but then my familarity with these truck is limited..my 58 does not profile like that however..

Tim, I agree with you on the bed to cab. Maybe its the shadows but the bed does not appear to be parallel to the cab. I prefer to have the bumpers the same color. The white front and the black rear to me are like wearing a black and brown shoe at the same time.

I can understand why people paint old trucks modern colors, but I think they significantly hurt the saleability price because they have removed the "old truck" mistique which, I think, is why many people buy. Example: "It reminded me of . . . so I bought it" motivation.

looking at the pictures the side shot something is up. bed looks level but the cab dont. it may be shadows but looks like cab to running board is off also. like the front is to low.

Looks like the brake pedal has been turned 180 deg? The interior work looks decent on it, but that ugly tach kills some of its appeal.

Deffinately something with the cab / box, but out this way I'm more used to seeing them bent the other way from excessive weight in the back.

What is with the clutch brake pedal arraingment? What is under the hood?

Stock, 228 or 251 L head 6, 3 spd standard trans,stock rear end,stock front end,stock brakes,allfromwhat I could see....

With that grain tailgate could it be the bed has a dump lift?

not necessarily....back in the day they'd lift the whole truck to tip it.

There's still some speculation in the 39-47 group but from what we can tell the front bumpers were all argent and the rears black.

my first inspection would be the froward cab to frame mounts with a vehicle profiling in this manner..and if that looked good I would look for possible frame scars of some repair action..my intent was not to critique the truck but to make some awareness to condition verus price as per the original question..if a picture is worth a thousand words..then a walk around is equal to a book in this case..while pricing questions can net a ballpark, we have next to determine the location of the playing field..the vehicle will then be based n the +/- of each particualr area that does make up the entire vehicle..I could list a ton of questionable items and add on of the truck as pictured but again..only the real buyer needs to discuss this with the seller in final price..

I cringe when I see a 'nice' paint job on an old truck and wires hanging out from under the dash, especially considering how little wiring there is on this one. The cab/bed alignment would make me want to put that thing on a lift to get a good look underneath. The frame may have been damaged, and weld repairs may have arched the frame rails. Or the bottom of the cab has rotted away and a makeshift fish-plate repair was made that has caused some misalignment. There are missing trim details in the sheet metal but no visible mounting holes in those locations, so I may assume that under that non-stock color paint is a slathering of bondo. Askew windshield wipers could be a sign of another annoying repair that needs to be made.

Bottom line: there are way too many little things wrong with this truck, its patchwork of repairs spell "WALK AWAY" to budget-minded folk

I dunno, I have no plans t obuy it, especially at 9 grand .But I know I could do a lot of the little things to clean this truck up for a much better presentation
