I think the mental status of anyone who would pay that kind of money for that sign should be in question. But I definitely won't be submitting a bid, so I won't have a nickel in it !

When selling something at this price of 200K the seller could easily pay for the shipping. I was going to bid on but with the shipping cost it is just a tad bid out of my price range.

Its a great sign but where do you put it in a house and I would be sleeping with it according to my wife.

....I could buy a 40 ply clock and the correct glovebox door for it for that kind of money...sheesh!

Not from Vintage American parts.....right Michael...

That same sign can be reproduced at a sign shop for under 15K...at that price I wonder if it also comes with the crack they are smoking?

How is it all original if all the neon and electrical parts on the back were replaced?

"there are 5 10" pieces"?...I think he meant 10'....I could buy a 40 ply clock and the correct glovebox door for it for that kind of money...sheesh!

I need a glovebox door for my '40. I have a nice clock that I found years ago, but unless I do significant alterations to my regular glovebox door, I can't install it. If you run into one, I 'd be interested.

When signs get old, you about have to replace neon items to make it

work. I suppose he means the finish and lettering are original. You need lotsa space for that one.

When I did pars runs for the Dodge Dealer I worked for in highschool, the regional warehouse (Forsythe Motor Parts) Had one of those behind thier main counter. Pretty impressive back in the day. That was in the mid 60's and I'm sure it had been there since they were available.

Wonder what it cost new and if mother MOPAR required certain level parts sellers to have one? Forsythe served an area about 50 miles around Syracuse so there were a lot of dealers that used them.

There still is a Business still operating and selling auto parts by that name but I do not believe they are affiliated with MOPAR any longer. The building where the sign was still stands operating as the office for the Body shop of a Chrysler Jeep dealer.

In the town that I was born and raised up in there was an old movie house that had the name of the theater on the front of the building. Well the movie house was sold and the new owner took it upon himself to destroy the old marquee sign one early Sunday morning. What a shame as it was like taking an historical land mark and destroying it. Of course he did not get into trouble but still you would have thought that maybe he could have just left that sign alone for the city and for the people who live in Menlo.:(

when the city pays for the restoration of the facility, they have a say..

the historical foundation and ABR of most cities make it just to hard on some homeowners and why you see a lot of derelict houses in old section of town..
