Don Coatney Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 So Bill this is you. Thanks again for letting me get some wheel time in this car. Quote
mackster Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 ouch. i hope you are doing ok. the car looks beat up pretty bad! Quote
steveplym Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Haven't heard from you in a long time Bill. Sorry to hear about the accident. Wanted to let you know the OD is still going strong and I continue to enjoy it. Quote
thrashingcows Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 DANG...That Hurts!! How did this happen? Hope all is well with you. Quote
Guest bewillie Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Was waving to someone and looking at them instead of where I was going. Guess what, when I looked foward there was a car stopped in front of me. My dumb a$$ falt. Insurance co. totaled the car so its gone. Insurance guy said he could repair it for around $9000 but felt it wouldn't be as nice as I had it so they paid me off which was a little more. Sneed is a great co to work with. Hope they don't cancel me as my son had a clam about a year agowhich I was also happy with the way they handled it. Quote
Young Ed Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 That sucks. My crash was at least 1/2 my fault too. I hope someone else buys your car and gets it back on the road. It certainly was fixable. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 That stinks. Any chance of you buying it back from the insurance co. ? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 look like it missed the bumper entirely and the grillhood and left fender absorbed most of the impact..i woul venture to guess the frame and suspension is unaltered..at best a dented fan blade to the eingine..fo course I see no drivers side view of the fender and how much it may have been pushed into the cowl/A-post..odds are this may have been the determining factor on the "total"...good thing waving your hand does not fall under the new "texting rules" Quote
aero3113 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Sorry to hear, good thing you are ok. It looks like it is repairable. Did you at least know the guy you were waving at? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Thats just plain awful. Sickening. I'm glad you weren't hurt physicaly. Mentally, thats a killer. I feel bad for you. Makes me wanna cry. It wouldn't be so bad if it were my car since its not all that nice anyway. But yours is a beauty. Ugh. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 That car will most likely be back on the road. Someone will fix it as the damage kinda looks high and some what soft. Too bad about your wreck. Quote
Guest bewillie Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I offered to buy it back (which I would like to) but when they gave me a price of $5000.00 I had to let it go. I will bid on it if I find out when and where they auction it. Billy Quote

I will bid on it if I find out when and where they auction it.Billy I hope you will be able to. You deserve a crack at it....as to when and where..... Stay on it ! Maybe if you offered them 3.5K now they would want to be DONE with it. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Glad you're OK. Sorry about the car. Just curious.....what kind of vehicle did you hit? Quote
Flatie46 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Hate to see pics of such a nice car in this shape, hope you find anthor you like just as well as this one or more. Quote
greg g Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Hmm our Ins companies will usually give you first dibs on buying the car back usually at salvage value. Maybe the laws are different state to state. It certainly seems ther is only sheetmetal damage there which although costly due to scarcity of parts should be easy to fix. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 I was bummed when an unlicensed driver ran a stop sign and hit the left front of PLYWOOD; however I have gotten over the mental part of being upset because my car is repaired and in better shape than before the crash. I hope you are getting past the self blaming stage and getting past your own "human error" experience. I am glad to hear you weren't hurt, right? Quote
