Plymouthy Adams Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 I was able to get by our friend Richies' place and get a close up of his latest purchase. The 50 Plymouth he just bought is a rather low mileage beast that drives extremely good..test ride found me behind the wheel tooling through Tucker Ga..clean machine, lots of surviving features Quote
randroid Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Tim, That is a beautiful car. Was it garaged for the last 60 years? -Randy Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Richie may have a Ford and a Hudson, but you see he's found another Plymouth. Looks very good. Quote
Flatie46 Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Must be a good story behind that one, well kept for sure. Quote
55 Fargo Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Now thats a nice, clean, straight, umolested machine. I really dig the blackwall tires, hub caps, matching paint on rims, and no beauty rings, it looks good that way. No need for WW tires for that ole girl.... Quote
Alshere59 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Wish they were all that clean. Mine needs a lot of work to get to that stage. Very nice.. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I don't know why I follow this forum, it just makes me jealous of everything I see. That little Plymouth would keep me happy for the rest of my life. Sweet. Its even my favorite color, too. Please don't park it next to that "brand X" thing sitting there. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 That car is a sweetie! Great find and as we all know, four door '50 Plymouths don't cost what their Ford and Chevy rivals do. Better car for less money! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 Richie made out like a bandit on that car and only had to make a few minor repairs to get it road worthy.. Quote
Richie Hodge Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Thanks guys for all the kind words, the car looks better in the pics than in real life. It is just an old, nice fun car to drive and I enjoy it. I enjoyed Tim's visit as always as he is an encyclopedia on Mopars. Richie. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Richie; Your new Plymouth looks terriffic. I just got off the phone with Billie Austin. He is planning a trip up my way before too long. Perhaps you could join him and we could have a meeting of the Plymouths here in the Boro. Good chance that Chance could attend too. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Don, Chance will probably be there on time--if he doesn't have to stop and pick up any ladders from the middle of the highway. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Don, Chance will probably be there on time--if he doesn't have tostop and pick up any ladders from the middle of the highway. Funny thing is Chance collects Mickey Mouse watches. But I dont think he knows how to use them as he is always late:D Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 well, if he collects Mickey Mouse watches..he blew it on this last get together, of course a medical situation in the family does take priority...I recently nabbed a MM watch and I had another special prise for his arrival...oh well..bait for the next time.. wayfarerstranger Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I am going to make a special trip to TIM`S land of car fun , to get all the goodies he has for me and to get another great meal from CHEF SALLY !! Quote
PatS.... Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Nice old survivor, Richie. I can smell that Mopar interior and hear the flattie now Thanks for the pics, Tim Quote
1940plymouth Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 My Father's youngest brother had a '50 Plymouth, this photo is of me, my younger brother, my uncle's Plymouth and Dad's '51 Ford. Taken sometime around 1952 or 1953 at my Grandparent's farm. Quote
faucet47custom Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I need to plan a weekend, help me get some momentum on my car party/get together for all of you southeast guys. I have started to make a prototype bracket for my new MC and I'm getting my new king pin kit installed this week. I'm starting to make some small progress finally. Quote
falconvan Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 That's a great looking old Plymouth. Someone obviously babied that car over the years. Quote
Mark Haymond Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Wow, it has the original trunk mat, passenger compartment rubber mat, and cardboard foot well covers. The steering wheel looks good and the wood grain finish on the metal dash is unusually well preserved. He got a good example of a 50 Plymouth. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 well just a week later I am back in Atlanta area on business, stop in Tucker Georgia and had a BBQ sandwich with Richie...he is driving the ole Plymouth daily, he rolled in with the car sporting a spiffy wax job..car is looking better every day....sorry no camera on this trip...it was a whirlwind trip to pick up some building scaffolding...
