  1. 1. Coming or not???

    • 6 moths is not enough notice to get my car fixed
    • Love to come but I have time conflicts (my dog needs grooming or ??)
    • I will try to make it please keep me updated on details
    • I have put it on my calendar and will be there
    • Mom (or wife/girlfriend) won't let me (Lets see who checks this one)
    • My parole officer will not let me associate you and your ilk
    • It's too far ( hot, dark, cold, damp, costly)
    • Traveling in a group is appealing

Mark Aubuchon and I, and hopefully others, are going to attend the Walter P Chysler Cub event in St. Johnsbury VT. the event is scheduled for July 13 through 16. Mark will be leaving the St Louis area a few day in advance and traveling via Niagara Falls, then east to VT. As there is no POC meet this year on the east coast, this will be a good opportunity to get the forum folks out. The WPC embraces all MOPAR marques and vehicles so you truck and Power Wagon, and military vehicle afficianadoes can come out also.

So please fill out the poll and give some good consideration to joining us and others, even if your car is not up to snuff to enter the judging, I,m sure they will be some touring events, and of course the infamous tailgate get together by that bunch of hippies on Friday night.

Mark is even willing to chauffer folks who don;t have air for their tires or other namby pamby excuses.

While two P15's heading down the road together are a notable sight, think what a dozen or so travelling the byways would be like.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE MULTIPLE SELECTIONS ( was this an appropriate use of ALL CAPS)

I had dreams of driving my truck out to that one after they announced it at the Dayton, OH meet last summer. However, the seat in my truck needs much better support before I'd attempt that type of journey. The trip to Dayton and back was hell on my back and butt. There's also a long motorcycle trip in the planning for this summer and I don't have enough vacation time for two trips like that. I'll have to wait until next year's meet in Kalamazoo, MI.

The show judging at a WPC meet isn't like at a POC or AACA meet. At the WPC show each participant gets a stack of ballots to vote on each class. It's more of a people's choice show. No worries of having a less than stock car. They also have a special award for the best P15 in honor of a former member who had a great fondness for P15's. This one is picked by the president of the club.

Too early for me to committ. It would be nice to know the host hotel to figgure expenses etc. There is not a Marriott within 50 miles of Johnsbury so I cannot burn Marriott points on this trip.

I believe Mark also plans to stop in Venus, Pennsylvania for a visit with George Asche. If I go I will also plan on this stop.

As our POC chapter is hosting the meet this summer I'll have a lot to do to get ready for that. Right around the time of the WPC club meet we'll be having our regions meet in rochestor to dry run the tours for the national.

So you're doing Iron butt instead of Iron back??? I can see where driving a truck that far might be cause for some discomfort. thanks for your responce. Merle could you put a link to the poll onthe truck board, like to see if there might be some interest among the folks who don;t cross the street to the car side. Thanks.

Don closest Marriott is in Middlebury 87 miles as crow flies.

Tim be a ice trip for the 54, or trailer it up here and then drive to VT. Be great if you cold get your schedule squared away. Plus you need a rest after all that muddin.

It would have made a good long-weekend trip for me. However, I am moving from Mass. to North Carolina at the end of March.. I don't think that I will make it this year. For those of you going, the Hemmings garage/museum in Bennington Vt. is a good take. Bennington is in the south-west corner of the state.

I've got enough of that padding already and it doesn't help. :P I'd rather get rid of some instead of adding more. ;)

The host hotel info was in the latest magazine but I see they haven't updated the web site yet. I'll try to remember to look it up when I get home tonite and I'll update the thread.

Texas to Vermont seems to be a stretch, appears to require too many motel nights and meals to really be affordable. Sounds like fun though, but at 10/12 mpg and over $3.00 a gallon gas would be more than I feel like I could afford..

I certainly appreciate the comments from you mid continent and left coast fellows, thanks for your interest, I am however, trying to stir up the Mid Atlantic and Northeast, and New England stick in the muds, shake them out of their hibernational stupor, get them to crawl out from under their snow insulated dens, and give them a target for their cabin fever.

And I may have to call in my marker from Rodney. Something about a show in Va on Fathers Day......not to mention Chet, and Jim Yergin and even that Flanagan fellow.

I'm gonna try...

There's two things in my way, first I have to finish my car. That's going to depend mostly on my work schedule. Second, I was thinking about going to Chryslers at Carlisle the weekend before.

Here ya go...

The host Hotel;

Comfort Inn & Suites

802-748-1500 for reservations

Rooms $119.00 includes breakfast

Activities;

Wednesday, July 13th - Drive to Brownington Center to the Old Stone House Museum. Cost $20 per person

Thursday, July 14th - Drive to New Hampshire for a ride up Mt. Washington via the Cog Railway. Cost $45 per person.

Friday, July 15th - Drive to Cabot, tour the Cabot Creamery ($2.00), then drive to Peacham for a chicken and biscut lunch ($12.00) followed by a tour of a Ghost Tour of a local Cemetery ($5.00)

Saturday, July 16th - Drive to the College in Lyndon for the car show with shuttles to the Stars snd Stripes Festival going on it town. The Banquet and Membership Dinner is also back at the College Saturday evening

Registration is shown at $35 but the tally line is filled in at $40. Kind of confusing but I have to assume the $40 is correct and the $35 was a carry over from last year's form that was overlooked. I don't know what their policy is for non-members to register, but you can always join the club for another $35 per year for US residents ($37 for our Canadian friends that want to come down).

I'll scan the info pages for your reference at work tomorrow morning.

I will try to make it. July is a hot hot month around here. I usually have mid summer burn out at that point. Ithink it would be a pleasent event to attend with the plymouth. If those cats can drive down from Canada I think I can drive my car to Vermont. Where is this place anyway? I wonder how far it is from Oxon hill maryland?
