Norm's Coupe Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 SPOOKY, I can't see anything Maybe you have the option to see the signatures turned off in your profile. Go into your profile and check or uncheck that box. Then the signatures should show up on your screen. I see them all including yours too. Quote
greg g Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Guess it's useful to search for your name on the net. I did mune a couple years back and found that the professional session I belonged to and was a regional counsel member of for a number of years, was publishing metting minutes, and comments from the national business meeting. While I didn't really say anything to cause trouble, it was a bit disconcerting to see names, places and times so easily looked up. Since there was nothing in the by laws about the association publishing to the web, I made a motion that the posts be removed from searchable area. It has since been moved to an area that is pass word protected, and no longer public domain. Similarly Ice Racing results were also published for open viewing. The other thing that shows up with you name and dress is car show results. Quote
woodscavenger Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I am not afraid to dumpster dive. I was originally a wood worker but now that I have a bigger shop and budget I am having great fun with hot rods. At heart though I am still a low buck, make it stretch, pick up something off of the road kind of guy! Quote

Brendan D25 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 My name is Brendan and I own a D25 Dodge and also suffer from a lack of imagination. Is there a 12 step program to cure this? Quote

Don Coatney Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Googling yourself can be interesting. What can be fun too is doing an e-bay search for your surname. Search for "Coatney" on eBay and see what you find. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 You can probably buy an overcoatney, maybe a spray can of undercoatney, a sportcoatney and for your family history, a coatney of arms. Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Both of you apparently have not done an eBay search for Coatney:cool: In my case you are correct. Don't do any searches on ebay anymore. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 In my case you are correct. Don't do any searches on ebay anymore. You should do it. It will give you a good laugh. Quote

John Mulders Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Use my own name. There is a risk but that would be small. I have nothing to hide and I am sure that the governments have already more information about me anyway (that I don't even can control). What I say is my opinion and I will stand for those opinions no matter what. Think that is freedom. Googled my name, found one or two time a link to the forum, seems I already passed on in 2002 and also have several jobs in the USA. "Split personality" may be a better handle ! John Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 You should do it. It will give you a good laugh. Did they use you as the model for this number Don? http://cgi.ebay.com/Catherine-Coatney-Brocade-Teddie-NWT-SZ-L_W0QQitemZ170268877253QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170268877253&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Quote
Johnny S Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I just shortened mine to Johnny S ...... aka John (Johnny) Smeltzer. But my Cowboy Action Shooting alias is "Mongo Colorado" ..... after Mongo in the movie Blazing Saddles. Some say that there is a resemblance to the latter handle in both appearance and actions. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 What can be fun too is doing an e-bay search for your surname. Search for "Coatney" on eBay and see what you find. Fitting, Don. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Well my handle was dodgepu1946. Because I joined the forum before I had a p15 and my only old car was the 46 dodge pickup. Since I now have 3 old cars and have gotten to know the guys quite a bit they gave me my current handle. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Did they use you as the model for this number Don? http://cgi.ebay.com/Catherine-Coatney-Brocade-Teddie-NWT-SZ-L_W0QQitemZ170268877253QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170268877253&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Fitting, Don. Catherine may or may not be related to me. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 not that this thread is on movies but..while the subject is at hand, Don C. what did you think of Tommy Boy and Black Sheep? thats gonna leave a mark... Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Catherine may or may not be related to me. In that case I think you should volunteer to model that item for her. Then post a picture here for all to see. However, make sure you forewarn me so I don't look. Don't think that would be something I would want to see. Quote
Suddensix Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 About 40 years ago I was in the auto parts business and one of my favourite customers would always say when asked what engine the car had that he was working on "it's a sudden six," the esses usually came out as a whistle. When I got my P18 and joined this great forum it was a no brainer what my handle would be. Oh ya his favourite name for me was peel head. Quote
Englishbob Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Mine i think is self explanatory Quote
