  2. Crescent, channel, and vise grips rolled into one.
  3. Wouldn't a truck axle have the spring perches on top of the axle for carrying a heavy load as opposed to the perches in your photo which are mounted below the axle?
  4. If you can't keep proper torque the head gasket will fail.
  5. Has anyone else noticed the head studs are way too short ? They don't protrude at ALL through the nuts, or am I missing something here......They are supposed to be head bolts from the factory, maybe replaced with incorrect length studs?
  6. If it looks like this straight axle it isn't IFS...... Take my word for it you have a IFS from the factory.
  7. Sigh....already wanting to slop in a shoverolet in it. Look at the front end you already have IFS.
  8. My Goodness you have the very rare, optional curved faceplate for the radio.......I have been looking for almost 2 decades for one. Most look like this.....
  9. We are just caretakers for these wonderful cars and trucks, although I converted to 12V many years ago all the wiring was rewired for 6V [thicker gauge] so that if the next caretaker wanted to go with a stock restoration all they have to do is switch out a few leads and replace a few components. All stock components removed were carefully stored and labeled and boxed for the next owner.
  10. Too bad you didn't take the opportunity to install a Mopar crate motor.......
  11. I remember in high school when an athlete got As on his report card others would joke and say those classes must have been Basket Weaving 101....lol.....meaning no effort required, kinda like saying sweats likes a pig....they don't, they pant like a dog....or you must eat like bird, birds eat copious amounts of food at one sitting, watch this video basket weaving looks hard as hell to me.
  12. Yes.
  13. You keep saying 8V neg ground and 6V pos ground.......? A battery is not positive or negative ground exclusively......if you take a 6V battery out of a pos ground system and put in a car with a 6V neg ground system all you have to do is change the cables to work in that system.
  14. This man loves his life......and is going to go down swinging.....Valhalla is waiting.
  15. If your wiring is the original 71 year old loom then you shouldn't assume anything.
  16. 46-early 49 Dodge, Windsor, New Yorker and De Soto club coupe are all the same body from the firewall to the trunk lid.....Plymouth will not fit. A 4 door De Soto is the same exact wheelbase as a club coupe for what little you need I say go for it. How about some pictures of the rotted areas.
  17. The car can wait......these are formative years for him and will help decide who and what he is in the long run.
  18. I Like the Orange!
  19. Whoever told you 45 MPH is full of the brown stuff........55 and 60 easily.
