  1. Nice and wholesome in Herbie the love bug and Its a mad, mad, mad world........but when he visited us on the Kitty Hawk I never heard such filth spew from someones mouth in my life! And I was cooped up on an aircraft carrier with 3,000 plus horny alcohol deprived sailors....lol....its not like I hadn't heard all those words before but the nasty way he strung them all together was enough to make this Sailor blush.
  2. It looked pretty cool in B&W too Paul..........
  3. I was 7 years old and we had stopped for gas at the DX station and wondered why no one was coming out to service the car, so Dad ran over the bell line a couple more times......Karl came to the doorway and motioned us inside. There was about a dozen people already crowded around his old Zenith as we entered the office, He said no gas until this is over you may stay and watch or pump your own gas.....we all watched except for my Father who was a very impatient man. He went out and gassed up the Plymouth and missed all the excitement as the module landed.
  4. you say it runs rough when warming up. does it have electric choke or manual, and if it has manual are you using it? Glad you know tdc it is very important when tuning your engine.
  5. Welcome aboard Noah! Sometimes these cars have just a crank pulley and sometimes they have a harmonic balancer. If you have the balancer it might have shifted over the years and the marks are now incorrect. Do you know how to find TDC on the compression stroke?
  6. Full size 90s Dodge truck is too wide also, you want a Dakota or Durango front clip. And even then I'm not sure because those early 50s cars had the narrowest bodies chrysler ever made.......
  7. My old high school ride. I don't have any photos so this an example. They called me the great pumpkin....lol.
  8. If you go this route I would suggest mounting a light bulb in it so that when you are running at night it lights up like the rest of the dash.
  9. I don't want to tape......never tape.....always use a crimp or a soldered connection when splicing an electrical harness. Do you want to burn your car to the ground?
  10. Way too wide for your application. 1951 desoto front track width 56 5/16 inches. crown vic front track width 63.4 inches. 3.5 inches of tire sticking out of your front wheel wells.
  11. I rarely mow before 9 myself but the heat dictated else wise. I was stationed in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach I'm guessing the humidity/dew is similar? During the pine tree pollen season was pretty awesome yellow everywhere and so hot when it got done raining the roads would steam!
  12. Mowed the yard at 6 30 this morning,[yes I did get some dirty looks and was proclaimed number one by my closest neighbor] temp was already 84 degrees with a heat index of 90......should reach a 100 today with a heat index of 115.....pretty brutal for Nebraska.
  13. I wonder if they make an adapter for those members who have Full Flow oil filtration on some 251s and 265s? Not this DeVal jobbie.....although it is well executed. I would rather have 1 like Sam's......
  14. Use any dye or paint on the mating surface before sanding, that will help locate the low spots as you sand.
  15. I don't know if you have a really good true straight edge ThriftyT, but I would check those mating flanges for trueness before mounting the manifolds to the engine. Might save you some headaches later. Good Luck.
  16. I grew up on NAPA, Big A Auto Parts and Champion....those were the stores you could trust. Now I order stuff willy nilly on the net...go figure....lol.
  17. If I ever have to go through this process the sawzall will come into play and a Borgeson U-joint will be installed.
  18. By the way I was stationed at NAS Meridian in the early 80s was I close to you?
  19. Great job! Sam just in case you didn't know the Napa brand filter is manufactured by Wix and is identical.
  20. Plymouth Scamp and Dodge Rampage..... I always wanted to put a Chrysler Laser/Dodge Daytona front end on one.
  21. I put a V8 in the fridge, no modifications needed.
  22. Gone in the midwest maybe....plenty on the west coast and desert regions.
