  1. I do believe that Don made alterations to the upper outlet in order to make his rad work.
  2. Gotcha, my last question.....Are you a purist and it " must " be stock mounts and nothing else, or are you open to other avenues ? And my saying purist is not an insult it takes all kinds to make our cars what they are.
  3. As stated the hard mounts have raised the height if the motor possibly changing your pinion angle. probably not your problem, but softer mounts would compress more giving you the correct angle and not transfer vibration from the engine.........maybe consider shaving these hard mounts until they match the pinion angle and maybe it won't vibrate as much until you find the ones you need ? Just a WAG nothing else...lol.
  4. In bootcamp they called me Younger or Older but never Elder......lol, I haven't had a filter on my car for over 15 years, I replace the oil every May 1st rarely accumulating more than 3,500 per year. I'm not plowing the field with it or going cross country on dirt/gravel roads so I don't see reason to install one, the oil bath filter is well maintained and does its job well. Frank the Elder thats funny!
  5. I have the thought of using Cummins style GEL type motor mounts, if they can dampen the vibration of a 4bt they can certainly do the job for the smooth L head 6.
  6. Save your toilet roll for the throne, you would be better off with no filter than to have that Rube Goldberg installed.
  7. Nice, maybe reverse a few to bring in fresh air.
  8. Quite the set up......I'd go for that instead of worrying about the inherent problems that come with aluminum heads.
  9. maybe these ? https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Universal-Bolt-Through-Engine-Mount-Cushion-Kit,1199.html?sku=7209314&utm_medium=CSEGoogle&utm_source=CSE&utm_campaign=CSEGOOGLE&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4s7qBRCzARIsAImcAxb_00qGy1uCgTWQuil0xessuu_jTmT3GNccX7Y6jdF4fCaVFZAd4IQaAhwZEALw_wcB
  10. A diy guy builds a car for 10 or less....a check writer same car for 30-50 and I'm happy for both of them because they got what they wanted....and a little jealous....lol. Speaking of the Edmunds head I think I would shave a stock head to bump the compression. paint it a nice silver. and buy some nice chrome acorn nut covers for the head bolts and call it a day.
  11. Its gotta be that Idiot Warshaw.
  12. School must be starting for him this week...........
  13. Are calendar are You using ?
  14. Page 70 of yellow pages........Left hand column 4th entry bold print....he sold new cars. http://sites.rootsweb.com/~npmelton/mo60_c65.pdf Same page right hand column he sold used cars....2nd entry light print.
  15. I'll bet neither one of you bothered to look it up......read the whole obit it will tell all. http://www.seeley-society.net/vitals/vcally108b.html
  16. I'm not a ferd guy but Henry had it right, make a car that the common worker can afford [model T] and he will buy it. If they would quit pricing electric cars out of Joe 6 packs budget he would indeed give it way more consideration than is given now.
  17. Nice car Paul......better roll up those windows....lol.
  18. All levity aside you must remember that Chrysler was famous for hoarding older parts and then upon running out of the "correct" part they would use the old parts until the new shipment of correct part arrived on the line.
  19. I did not imply that you implied that you said it was pre war only, it was only a simple observation that mine is similar to yours but of a different era. Now what are the implications of that....lol. EDIT. I wonder if it has a military connection, the power wagons and M-37s have different equipment on these engines than their civilian counterparts.
  20. It would be criminal not to change that clutch release fork seal while you are at it......
  21. My 47 has the same bypass housing as yours and it is not pre war.........and the engine is the same one that came with the car when built.
  22. Thank you very much, the lift looks well put together not cobbled like some. I wish you luck.
