  1. Tell that to the true dimensional doug fir 2 x 4s that reside in the walls of my 1910 house.....old growth timber hard as a granite slab...still cracking and popping during the winter and still seeping sap 110 years after being cut down. I had to pre drill every hole for a nail or sheet rock screw....they just bent or snapped off, and boy did those drill bits get hot in a hurry...lol.
  2. Don't you have to change the head lights too? So the beams orient differently? Or did some w#nker pull my leg...lol
  3. Now you are toying with something interesting to me.... @James_Douglas I've always thought that the lifter bores could use some sort of sleeve to make them closer tolerance.....would oilite/sintered bronze be too soft? Some sort of speedy sleeve....lol.

  5. Didn't the other thread Tim started state he was taking Chemo for cancer and he hoped to finish/survive it soon?
  6. A lot of popular 60s cars and trucks ran all drums and a few had power brakes to boot.....I believe @Dodgeb4ya runs assisted brakes which should be dual pot under the floor.
  7. Did you know that you cannot redeem those power balls at home? You have to take them back to the state you bought them in....lol. Honey we won a hundred on the lottery! But we have to drive back to New Mexico to claim it......sigh.
  8. I read wrong I thought you ended up with the shanafelt, it was a nice piece.
  9. According to this article Eddy Edmunds worked for Bill Shanafelt around 46 before he started his own company....... So It is probably a rarer manifold than an actual Edmunds! Not a concilation prize at all.... http://myflatheadford.com/shanafelt-intakes-aka-emerson-payne/
  10. Wonderful truck....the OP sure liked his gages...lol. What brand lift is that and are you satisfied with it ? Good luck with your shocks.
  11. What my Gramps would do with his chryslers was to install an extra heater core inline before the cabin heat under the passenger side floorboard, protected of course and run it at full blast during the summer months to keep the cooling system from boiling over. Crude but effective.
  12. @Dodgeb4ya is gear drive real loud on the 413 ?
  13. Camshaft in the deep freeze, timing gear in the oven.........
  14. Awesome work on the floors.....this picture makes me smile, but I'm sick....lol. the t shirt is pulled up, the pants pulled out and the underwear [towel around shifter] is pulled up into a wedgie....lol. As if someone under the floor board had been victimized.
  15. I don't know if I missed it while browsing your amazing [drool] collection or if you didn't say....are any of these trucks for sale? Is your last name Elder? It's not a common name out west as it is in PA where most of us started.
  16. Give him some credit Pops.......most kids can't even change a u joint at his age and look what he has accomplished so far.
  17. You are doing a fine job Nick,.....I would let you work unsupervised on my car anytime.......and I am picky
  18. @Todd B I was hoping that it would be a 50 year old rematch with the Vikings beating the chiefs this time.
