  1. In Indiana, the annual license plate sticker has the expiration month and day, and also the number that is on the plate. You have to put the right sticker on the right palte if you have more than one vehicle. The stickers gotta match the plate or you're in trouble.
  2. Since 3 and 5 towers are next to each other, look inside for carbon tracks between the tips. That would explain the weak spark in both cylinders and a vibration when running.
  3. Quando omni flunkus moratati.
  4. Don, thanks for that last posting about how to do a compression test. It's wonderful how facts can correct an old practice that never was right evn thought it seemed so. Just call me "Sixty-six and still learning".
  5. You might find a small "C" clip at a hardware store that will work on the posts.
  6. If you primed the engine and it still didn't try to fire, you need to look for spark. It sounds like you don't have any. If it's not timed close enough to fire, it will still fire but not run.
  7. It can also eat away your common sense. At least its hard on mine. What little I have left.
  8. Norm, I have to think that radial tires deliver much less shock to the rims than bias ply tires because radials have a much softer sidewall. Those old bias tires have a really stiff sidewall especially if they are 4 ply or more.
  9. Norm, yes it could change the balance. Thats why you have them balanced when you put the tires back on, welded wheels or not.
  10. On October 31, 1961, I bought a 1930 Chrysler 6 sedan. We've had a Mopar hanging around ever since.
  11. Is the Memphis Belle still on Mud Island? If it is, that's worth the trip.
  12. I don't think it could be a Pontiac or it would have a wide vertical trim in the center of the deck lid. Or at least the holes for its mount studs.
  13. Thats just fine, yet another game I suck at !
  14. In other words, relax, you done good.
  15. Tim, I think your last statement is the dividing line between young and old-er. "...there is that need to work on something..once completed, well the thrill is basically gone and the itch to get another project rides hard upon you"... We, of the senior persuasion, are ready to sit back and enjoy the easy part of the hobby. But I do speak for myself only.
  16. Hi-temp grease, just about as big as a drop of water or less. It will keep the gap from changing.
  17. Don't forget to lube the rubbing block on the points.
  18. On the way to the shoe store ?
  19. You realize you are old when all cops look like kids.
  20. If its an electricaly heated choke then you need power after its running to open the choke. If its on a mopar 8 I think there is also a timer to shut if off after it has had time to open fully.
  21. So, they get you both ways, don't they.
  22. So that's how you get in the country now !!
  23. Boats are like wives,, it ain't the hull that costs, it's the rigging.
  24. Don, thats just scary!
  25. Those are spectacular pictures! And yet, I don't understand. He says he hit the tanker, but he didn't make a mistake. ???
