  1. Sounds like a job for JB Weld.
  2. Silver for both.
  3. Of course it is, look at its face!
  4. Those degrees are in BTU's. Metric BTU's.
  5. Yeah, it kinda looks like Harley Earl's Buick "Y-Job"
  6. I am on my second battery from TSC. The first one cost $30 and lasted 8 years and a couple months. A friend of mine is using it now in a Trabant. The new one cost $32 and I'm hoping it will last as long as the first one. It seems to crank forever when I flood the engine. I recommend them to anyone.
  7. This is the resin cast club coupe body on a 41 chassis. Bumpers and door handles taken from a 53-54 Chevy kit. I think the resin dody is still available, check the model magazines. There is also a resin '41 four door kit, but I haven't finished that yet. It uses the same chassis from the '41 coupe kit.
  8. Congrats Bob, welcome to the good life. This is what life is all about.
  9. Germans and Hungarians both know the cardinal rule; "Don't mess with TUV".
  10. I like to tell people that there are more electronics in my wristwatch than there is in this car.
  11. I got some universal u-bolts at a trailer repair place. They said they were for a 3500 lb axle. There's always JC Whitney.
  12. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Be assured we are all thinking of you and send your our deepest condolences. May God give you peace.
  13. Praying for you, Don.
  14. I have a 230 on a stand that has two horizontal legs and it handles the weight ok. The pictured one only has one. Bolt the engine on the stand and before you unhook the lift, lower the hook and bounce the engine around a little to see how sturdy the stand is. Poke it with a stick and watch your toes.
  15. Much more comfortable than lying on your back with a kitchen utensil. Is it just me, or does that sound a little kinky to anyone else?
  16. I apologize for that last post.
  17. You should never reuse the baster for cooking as it contains too many "TRANSfats".
  18. I don't believe it makes any difference at that point. If you had an automatic choke, you may need to make an adjustment if you go over 1/8" or more. I have a 1/2" spacer under my carb as a heat insulator. The air filter brace has a slot so you can raise or lower it. Carb height is not critical, especially in thousandths of an inch. Just make sure you get the little vacuum hole lined up.
  19. Doesn't take much to hijack a thread, does it?
  20. Try jamming some foam rubber in the big holes at the ends of the package shelf. Look up from inside the trunk and you will see large gaps between the 1/4 panels and the ends of the sheet metal package shelf. They go directly up into the headliner. I stuffed some foam rubber in mine just to stop noise coming in from the trunk. All those screams and such.

  22. 48 P-15 2 dr sedan rescued from a "body shop" in Frankfort Indiana in September of 1994.
  23. Here's an Airflow in the National Railway Museum in York, UK. A real live RHD taxi.
  24. I spent last week in Yorkshire. It seems I don't speak English because I really had a hard time with some of these Yorkshiremen. I found some great fish and chips, though.
