  1. I have not used the rockauto body parts but check the shipping I look at them a while back and the shipping was $$$
  2. If all else is good just bend the float rod up a little until it reads. Since it is from another vehicle you also should verify it again when close to empty.
  3. Either it is a scam and he does not have the car or he is a screwball . I would forget that car and look for another one

  8. No good answer and this maybe be a stretch but the slots to me look like the type I have seen in wood working I think they have a bit to drill a square hole not sure of name maybe a mortisen bit ? and since you were drilling the holes maybe something like that would work
  9. Does not cover all make but for anything mopar related try moparts http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php
  10. I never checked the floors I repaired mine with sheetmetal like sunsetdart. However I did use a drivers side floor panel the part with the pedels from a 49 4 door sedan and it fit . As to rockers I had order a 2 door from JCW but it turned out to be a little too short, not sure if it was the part or or why but used part of 4 door rocker and cut welded and fit as necessary.
  11. Do the pistons move in the wheel cylinder I had one new (raybestos) that had the piston frozen in the cylinder.
  12. Not about the tight drum problem seals should not cause it. However if you were speaking about the drum inner seal you should replace it they are cheap and if it leaks it will ruin the new linings. Also check the wheel bearing inner and outer clean & repack or replace if necessary. Once you have everything apart it makes sense and saves headaches down the road to replace all the old parts
  13. I have used dot 5 silicon in about 6 vehicles and have at least 6 years on 2 of them. Good stuff but I do a complete rebuild on brakes Lines hoses linings wheel and master cylinder. This is the only way to do it with a single mc. Also be sure to properly adjust you emergency brake.
  14. When you part out the car the parts that only fit the wagons go quick and at a good price the rest sell slower as they are basic to most plymouths of the era. Also as you know there are not a lot of suburbans around so it would be unfortunate if another complet car was used for parts.
  15. here is a link to Unity's, parts section http://shop.unityusa.com/-Parts-_c_10.html

  18. Not really sure about asbestos but also lead in old paint could be a problem. Best solution is to get and use a good mask whenever removing questionable materials.
  19. I have one from them also had it a few years it does not slow down or trip under normal use its a 3/4 hp motor. In any case both side should react the same way.
  20. I had my 48 Pilothouse insured with hagerty ,like most classic insurance they have daily driver restrictions. They will ask for a photo of the bed when insuring a truck so it needs to be in good condition other then nothing different then insuring a car.
  21. Welcome to the forum, nice to see another suburban owner here. The 1st thing I would recommend is go to the link below it is part of this website and should be required reading for any old dodge or plymouth owner. http://www40.addr.com/~merc583/mopar/framesets/techtipframeset.html

  23. I rember getting the camel patch kits in a local gas station back in the late 60's they came in a round tube I think it was cardboard with a metal cover so 49 sounds about right for something like you have. However no real help on the 21-49.
  24. Some of the industrial engines have a plate on the right side providing the engine model with that information you could find more information about the engine. I think some of industrial engines ran with less hp and lower rpms then the auto engines.
