  1. Was doing some clean up on the computer and found a link to this site. It's been a long longtime since I visited here, saw you post . Don't visit here much sold most of the mopars only have the 69 W300 left. Ed
  2. Do you need a 51-52 radiator or just looking for info on the 49
  3. I used to own that car, sold it to the person you bought it from. I will send you a pm later today with what I know about the car. Here is a photo of what the car looked like when I sold it
  4. Ford wheels of the same era will fit but not sure if you have to drill a hole for the plymouth pin
  5. I guess you could take it to a shop that repairs gas tanks but you should be able to find another tank for a 4 door from a parts car
  6. If a rusted car is in style maybe that is why I have not sold my 52 suburban (listed in classidifeds). I was thinking that because the paint was old and need some touch was the problem.Maybe I should sand off some of the paint and let it rust up a litte. I must be getting old as it make no sense to me.
  7. Regional areas usuall do not get that much attention as the main section and go post sometimes get ignored. My 2 cents is cars and truck is enough of a division
  8. Looks good a little confusing but I will figure it out.
  9. Link to ebay ad http://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-plymouth-rat-rod-truck-suburban-station-wagon-mopar-NO-RESERVE-/360563513613?hash=item53f342990d&item=360563513613&pt=Salvage_Parts_Cars&vxp=mtr
  10. It took some beating he also had it on ebay. Between the physical damage and the salt water not much there to save.
  11. I always like the bus coupes could be a interesting project but like other comments wrong side of the US but maybe thats a good thing
  12. Don't know how to do it but pretty sure if you could check someone IP address it shows what part of the world they are in.
  13. Rear fenders off a 49 4 door should fit but finder trim in a different position
  14. While not original like Riche's infor below is what Rhode island wire uses for its premade harness and also has wire available in bulk. This is a few years old but should not have changed This was for p15's http://oldmopar.com/oldmopar/wirecodes.html
  15. sounds like the leather ones I got did not get around to installing them yet. In search for a correct grease to use for the ujoints I have been using modern grease for cv joints to pack them with.
  16. Below is a link that will get you started . I have found its usually easier to pull the distributer to set the points but if you have no knowledge in this area you may need to read some information in the manual http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/036/page02.htm
  17. Some great information on the process at the imperial site see link below however I replaced the rubber boots got them from roberts and they only held up a year or so and I do not drive much. Better of with the leather version http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/056/index.htm
  18. Yes it is a bad time of the yer to try to sell any truck or car most peoples spare cash is going to buy presents this time of the year. Problem with older mopars is not that the vehicles are unpopular but that spare parts are hard to come buy and sometimes you need to be creative and repair or cross reference existing parts for mopars but for fords or chevys just pick up a phone and order the parts you need. For example I have a 31 model a ford and can order most any parts with a phone call try that with a 31 dodge.
  19. Cars should be the same some of the trucks were different. My 48 B1D had larger shoes in the rear
  20. I think you would do better as Tim pointed out listing in the for sale section. More members are going to look there for parts.
  21. I have used drums with out turning them for years never had a problem with them shoe kind of wears into the grove. However if the drum is scored so bad to be thin then it needs to be replaced see link for drum turning minimums http://oldmopar.com/oldmopar/drumspec.jpg It could be one of the brake springs came loose the best solution is to pull drum and see what the problem is .
  22. At $172( but it does come with free bolts) defiantly something I could duplicate at home but as you suggested something to copy from. I see Speedway has some universal seat track that may work if I need them http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Universal-Seat-Sliders,7103.html
  23. No seat belts at this time I did figure on some additional work to properly secure seats and no console would. I would like do this so I would the option to be able to put it back to original seats. I had installed a 60 dodge truck seat in my 48 pilothouse did have to make some modifications but not too hard.
  24. Thanks guys as you point need to do some eyeball and tape work. Just started thinking about seats my wife has some health problems and the current original seats are not the best for her comfort. Was thinking about selling the car but maybe can make some adjustments. Tim the adjustable frame mount you suggest is another possible option.
  25. Thinking about putting bucket seats in the front of my 52 just wondering if anyone has done this and has any suggestions as what fits. I am thinking more of a problem of finding seats of correct height then width.
