  1. Thanks Rob! I have a long list of “to do” on it still, like the wiring, lights, correct gauges etc. you know me, just messing around..... ? Hope to get back to him seriously this fall
  2. Updating the thread for this truck. I was seriously thinking about giving this truck back to the PO now that “Jimbob” is mobile.... but, I think I might hold onto him a while longer... got to thinking about last years wildfires and ice storm in my area and thought, why not have a back up plan. procured me a 550 gallon storage tank (shown here full of water) my plan is to get a “roller pump” to hook up to the PTO and tee off a hose bib for neighbors to get water (should the power go out again next winter) I don’t expect to fight wildfires by any means, but if I can extinguish hot falling embers... i figure it’s better than just watching them ignite ? Still need to strap it down or block it. But the weight of this JUST started to touch the overloads. wish me luck
  3. Been also looking for an update on your truck Haydenh! ? we need to get him back on the road....
  4. LOL, nope, the 7 won’t work for you Mertz! Needs to find someone with a big truck/s to function properly ..... I know just the guy ? ( of course I’m kidding unless you take me seriously)
  5. Lol, half of Jeremiah again! So funny.... I have a few photos of his other arm.... we should crop them all together sometime but seriously..... you are my hero too Ggdad1951 ? ?
  6. Glad it worked our for you Dan! ? If you can, Post a vid of the start up.... or at least a photo of the truck be safe!
  7. past, I know of a guy who, who knew a guy, whom had a ornament..... LOL 1097255
  8. Yes on the drum install before. I had the parking brake drum, lever and linkage installed before I put the transmission in the truck. drive line= just stick it in there but, make sure all the needle bearings are clean, lubed and present as you go when I took my latest one apart, there were a few missing needles and it started to show wear (and slop) Also, I loosen the carrier bearing, installed the transmission end of the drive line and then put the carrier back in place. Might not be needed but, I made me happy to do it that way ?
  9. From what I have seen (on my trucks) there are at least three different fill plug sizes and they are “vented”. If you do make your own, might keep that in mind. You could put a request on the “wanted” section with what fill cap your looking for (Or replace the whole lid, gasket and cap) or call Vic’s dodge garage https://vicsdodgegarage.com/products/brakes/ or call Steve at DCM https://dcmclassics.com both of of these vendors have parts trucks and might have a cap for yours good luck, Brent
  10. LOL, Oh no Julie! Don’t let Merle near it or the interior will be more stripped ? (Photo of Merle from his build thread)
  11. Has this truck made it to the “Q”?
  12. Welcome Julie! 51 or 52? I’ve never “restored” a truck, so take it for what it’s worth. ? I would make it safe and enjoy what you have. LOL, But at minimum get the correct steering wheel and a horn ring ? well said on the resale JB
  13. Once, I placed a cinder block behind the trailer about 8’ and walked it down with a rope like Brad said. (After that I used a come-a-long) LOL, When I unloaded “Jimbob” his brakes were locked on the rear. I lifted the rear with my bobcat, got the rear tires on the ground and pulled my trailer out with the tow vehicle. Yeah, It wasn’t pretty or graceful but, we were evacuating for wildfire and didn’t think I had time to win dismount points ?
  14. Gotcha, so your missing..... i miss understood.
  15. Sure does, my latest flathead I was lucky enough to take off the tappet covers and discovered it was the intake stuck open. I pulled the plug, lubed the crap out of the valve from both ends and gently worked it down.... my other four flatheads..... had to pull the head Glad to see your back at it Travis ?
  16. Hi Dan, sounds like you have a two speed rear axle and your looking for the rear axle vacuum control valve? (Photo from B3GA) my B3HH has what I would guess you could call a “manual”. It acts like a high/low under the choke knob, rather than the button on the shifter. it does not use the same vacuum control valve, but rather a later model or a “farmer fix” little cumbersome but, I don’t think you “nuts” (just yet ?)
  17. Lol, Greg, if you’re wanting to see the PNW you better hurry before it burns to the ground. congrats Cheesy on the bingo.? Julie and I have another type of bingo we are doing..... as we travel, we try and meet forum members in different states and countries. (Something i always admired about Don C) my list is short so far; CA, Washington, Montana, Minnesota and London England but, has been humbling and enriching. (So, You all have been warned! ?)
