  1. and please, don’t get frustrated and use pliers! ? What are you gonna replace it with? I was able to clean up a couple of mine and put them back in service
  2. LOL, geeze Wally. How hard do you shift to break the valve rubber connector away from the fire wall? ? (I joke cause I have never had one that wasn’t broken)

  6. Dang Rob, so glad that is not your basement! I’d go back upstairs, shut off the light and screw the door shut ?
  7. Welcome Kyrie, sounds like a cool project. 251 in a two ton COE! Color me a little jealous ? would like to see a photo of the truck. if you decide to have the water pump rebuilt before it goes back in, I’ve had good luck with http://www.autofriction.com up here in my neck of the woods. Brent

  9. Lol, perfect send me your address ?
  10. Well, isn’t that peculiar?.....I apologize for taking this off topic. notice the mounting holes on the one I’m holding versus the one that you’re holding. I don’t think mine would work for you after all. Go ahead and send me yours and I’ll take a closer look ?
  11. LOL, Oh no! I can see it now.... flames down the side with your cattle “brand” on the back somewhere Trying to put out flames 48dodger, not add any ?
  12. Thanks Rob! I have a long list of “to do” on it still, like the wiring, lights, correct gauges etc. you know me, just messing around..... ? Hope to get back to him seriously this fall
  13. Updating the thread for this truck. I was seriously thinking about giving this truck back to the PO now that “Jimbob” is mobile.... but, I think I might hold onto him a while longer... got to thinking about last years wildfires and ice storm in my area and thought, why not have a back up plan. procured me a 550 gallon storage tank (shown here full of water) my plan is to get a “roller pump” to hook up to the PTO and tee off a hose bib for neighbors to get water (should the power go out again next winter) I don’t expect to fight wildfires by any means, but if I can extinguish hot falling embers... i figure it’s better than just watching them ignite ? Still need to strap it down or block it. But the weight of this JUST started to touch the overloads. wish me luck
  14. Been also looking for an update on your truck Haydenh! ? we need to get him back on the road....
  15. LOL, nope, the 7 won’t work for you Mertz! Needs to find someone with a big truck/s to function properly ..... I know just the guy ? ( of course I’m kidding unless you take me seriously)

  19. Yes on the drum install before. I had the parking brake drum, lever and linkage installed before I put the transmission in the truck. drive line= just stick it in there but, make sure all the needle bearings are clean, lubed and present as you go when I took my latest one apart, there were a few missing needles and it started to show wear (and slop) Also, I loosen the carrier bearing, installed the transmission end of the drive line and then put the carrier back in place. Might not be needed but, I made me happy to do it that way ?
  20. From what I have seen (on my trucks) there are at least three different fill plug sizes and they are “vented”. If you do make your own, might keep that in mind. You could put a request on the “wanted” section with what fill cap your looking for (Or replace the whole lid, gasket and cap) or call Vic’s dodge garage https://vicsdodgegarage.com/products/brakes/ or call Steve at DCM https://dcmclassics.com both of of these vendors have parts trucks and might have a cap for yours good luck, Brent
  21. LOL, Oh no Julie! Don’t let Merle near it or the interior will be more stripped ? (Photo of Merle from his build thread)
  22. Has this truck made it to the “Q”?
  23. Welcome Julie! 51 or 52? I’ve never “restored” a truck, so take it for what it’s worth. ? I would make it safe and enjoy what you have. LOL, But at minimum get the correct steering wheel and a horn ring ? well said on the resale JB
  24. Once, I placed a cinder block behind the trailer about 8’ and walked it down with a rope like Brad said. (After that I used a come-a-long) LOL, When I unloaded “Jimbob” his brakes were locked on the rear. I lifted the rear with my bobcat, got the rear tires on the ground and pulled my trailer out with the tow vehicle. Yeah, It wasn’t pretty or graceful but, we were evacuating for wildfire and didn’t think I had time to win dismount points ?
