  1. Googled "stover nut" images....that's exactly what they look like. Usually run them up tight with a ratchet & back-up wrench. Thanks for the info.
  2. I've used nylon lock nuts on non-heat affected bolts & some type of lock nut that doesn't use nylon-I think the outer end is slightly tapered [?] (don't know what they're called, but got them from a shop I worked at years ago) on heat affected bolts on my '62 Panhead with good results. The nylon gets weak if you R/R them quite a bit, just replace if needed. The only ones that loosened up were the ones without lock nuts. I'm sure there will be negatives with these, but they work for me.
  3. Chevy hoods, Ford hoods.....so much for keeping it ALL Mopar.
  4. Berbaum sells a steering box kit, but you won't know what you need til you open it up....may need a sector shaft, which isn't included in the kit, but may be found on ebay. Check ALL the components of your steering...rod ends/tie rods included. http://www.oldmoparts.com/parts-steering.aspx Though not local to you, I've heard good things about this place (no affiliation): CJ Auto 5909 Firestone Blvd, South Gate, CA 90280 (562) 806-6464

    Vent assy

    Maybe something like these: http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-76994-Universal-Vent-Window/dp/B000COCXHM
  6. VERY nice Bill! Are you going to make it to the L.A. Roadster show with it?
  7. Worth a try....you gotta have something with 2 wheels to mess around on once in a while, after being caged up on 4 wheels. I have a '62 FLH going on 20 years now. You have your work "cut out" for you on this one......and if you have trouble fittin 276 in there, I'd give it a whirl in my '38.....I know, it was worth a try.
  8. Looks great, nice rake.
  9. Thanks for the pics.
  10. If you need to make room in the shop, you can send that Hydra Glide my way......
  11. Once they say "I DO"! (I guess I was half dead for about 2-1/2 years, then not dead at all, now been half dead for about 15-1/2 years........)
  12. Congratulations & welcome to the forum. Looks like a good start, whichever direction you take it.....stock, mild custom, or?????
  13. This is all very interesting & getting off topic from the original post, but it is in the OT forum. I'm not very computer savvy and getting rid of unwanted/never used preloaded apps is what I'd like to figure out how to do.....from a smart phone.....and laptop.
  14. Here are a few threads that may help. I've been looking at the Plymouth Doctor's patch panels for my Coupe, but not ready at this time. http://p15-d24.com/topic/35514-plymouth-doctor-questions/?hl=%2Bplymouth+%2Bdoctor http://p15-d24.com/topic/37605-plymouthdoctor/?hl=%2Bplymouth+%2Bdoctor#entry392142 http://p15-d24.com/topic/37681-the-plymouth-doctor/?hl=%2Bplymouth+%2Bdoctor
  15. That is one sanitary engine bay!!!
  16. What, no pics of the new jewelery? I have my paperwork somewhere for the HEI, but by the time I find it, you probably would've talked to Tom by then.
  17. The link shows up as a 1 x 1 pixel pic.....about the size of a pin point. It sure seems for the $65 Bernbaum wants for a switch, would've saved you a lot of time & trouble (and 2 threads on basically the same subject) trying to figure out what aftermarket switch will work. If you would've ordered the correct switch when you started this, it would be installed by now & you'd be driving your car (if it's roadworthy). Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
  18. The 2 long studs would've needed to be cut down if you were going to use them, as they are for stock exhaust manifolds or the cast type headers. I used long bolts on my cast headers and Permatex on ALL the studs & both bolts.....no leaks.
  19. I had www.brakeplace.com re-sleeve my stepped bore rear wheel cylinders in stainless. Very happy with their work, competitively priced, & had my wheels cylinders back on my door step in just over a week from the day I shipped them.
  20. Looks like fun. Not to rub it in, but nearly EVERY day here in So Cal is a good day for a ride.....supposed to hit 90* this weekend.....in March! Oh wait, did I say nearly EVERY day.....there are NO good days to go for a ride around here....AWFUL, just awful weather here!!!!
  21. Bob, remote controlled solenoids to open the doors (door poppers), with usually a hidden handle, cable operated back-up to open-similar to a front hood set-up. Funny seeing these old threads pop up and seeing members that aren't regularly on nowadays. That car is nice, wonder what the status is.
  22. Weren't they mounted in your "lowering" thread?
  23. I doubt you did it this way because of my post, but at least we were thinking along the same lines...........looks great Bill!
  24. Welcome & as said, VERY nice car. Maybe member DodgeB4ya will chime in on the production #'s. Also, maybe you should've changed your name to "Chrysler John" for this forum......
  25. Just giving you a hard time, Mike. Good seeing it on the road.
