  1. Honestly, if Merle would be willing to swing by the shop and get eyes on it, might not be a bad idea.....too much up in the air IMO. Gotta keep remote workers honest somehow.
  2. Bear in mind that you'd want to fasten the rubber with more than adhesive (I used pop rivets with a larger head since I could not set split rivets with out a power tool) and that the rubber should go up to the last rivet hole (fully cover the interface between the fender and cowl). Roberts has the "most" correct version of the filler out there. Direct copy of FEF's original filler. maybe different factories did it different or it differed over time....but I'd use all the holes.
  3. movie star? will be signing "truck"graphs after the screening....just put your paper down there and he will drive over it.
  4. well my method of using a tree won't help.... Can you find a RELATIVELY immovable object and afix the truck to that and pull the trailer out from underneath.
  5. Nothing has changed as far as I know. Doing them yourself, paying for repair, or finding a better set on the interwebs is about it.
  6. Fenders are all the same for B series trucks....now doors, cabs, hoods, grills and REAR fenders...different story.
  7. tis in the TRUCK section? so?!?!??!
  8. To this point you should assure the hood is set up right for the B1/B2 front clip and not a B3/B4 hood.
  9. Sounds like a repowered truck....which trans? Value depends on what it is!
  10. if you can, go look at it...sounds like a pretty good deal and panels are hard to find. Look for the hidden rust...panels have some spots that are unique (rear fenders, rear doors, drip rail, etc.) compared to the pickups. As stated wiring sounds ok, its looking at the mods that have been done that you mentioned (brake conversion and anything else). Get under it, check it over, take it for a spin. He's a mutt with all the parts from different vehicles put on so hopefully they are all solid bits! Does seem like the seat bases have some mods as well. And you can always get rid of the LED lights.
  11. Same truck, different branding than the US. Pick up a parts manual for the Dodge and you should be good to go 98% of the time.
  12. yep, I've never cared what marketing wanted, just make stuff that works.
  13. I have sales literature that talks about these trucks being "Pilot House" and why called so. So I'd say "official". As much as it annoys me when a C series owner talks about their "Pilot House" C series, I can understand the WC series owners being a bit put out when the B series co-opted the "Job-Rated" logo and imagery, but that info is actually on the trucks and sales documentation for whatever that's worth.
  14. Reaming is sloppy? It's how you get the truest and cleanest diameters.
  15. This exactly...shim it wrong and you get REALLY bad wear. I honestly put the ones back on FEF backwards and while he ran true, tires wore BAD on the outside edge. Took him to my car club buddy's alignment shop to investigate and he found that and swapped them around. Drives better and the steering is less "floaty" at highway speeds. But I had aligned the tires with a tape measure perfectly!
  16. praying for no breakdowns?
  17. Stock and only location (as far as I know) is under the bed. Bed side mounts were aftermarket.
  18. aw...c'mon! Ah 3 on the three explains it....not as familiar with those as the 4 on the floor.
  19. Trash the whole thing and send me your grill bars! Glad to hear things went as well as they could. What trans you have in him? I only have syncro in 3rd and 4th.
  20. these things happen....my arms are CURRENTLY the perfect length....talk to me in 2 years... ?
  21. I think I can FINALLY put that rumor to test...and rest... number on box is: 1280002 number on ornament is: 1097255
  22. So the weekend found some time to putz with the latches and linkages more. I measured for some bushings to solidify things up at the joints and make things more reliable and am waiting for my buddy to get those back to me, but yah...I might be putting a few access holes in strategically to get these installed. Luckily the interior will be covered in a big removable panel. ALSO I got....an NOS hood ornament in perfect condition! I see zero pits and plan on just dropping it on with no repairs.
  23. wait which is the sarcasm font? this one or this one?
