  1. Saturday I had to say goodbye to the truck... He left for paint! 😁
  2. Devil is in the details. Glad to see you back on this. I'd LOVE to see another option for our trucks!
  3. You need to get the lock out in order to reset the pins. Might be able to figure the pins out in situ, but might not. Yes, you'd need to drill the check arm rivet out. I've had luck in pulling door hinge pins....but they can be a pita. Or just unbolt the hinges. Even if you drill the screw out, youll need to keep the lock in place at reinstall. Hence why I did the post on the shaft collar. Break it off, shaft collar, problem solved.
  4. 1. Well, IF and I mean IF you get that set screw out, you'll be one of a VERY few who do. Right hand screw, but generally so frozen in and small of a drive it doesn't happen. Most find a different way, drilling out, breaking off etc. to get the keeper screw out. See below for my way of dealing with it. The door and ingnition should be the same key. 7. Merle is right, I have loosened several this way. I hung a cinder block to help put tension on while hanging vertical.
  5. Should only be the one shape for the trucks under 1.5 ton. While a different tank may bolt up, the filler neck and sending unit location appear to be different and may cause you issues.
  6. Try contacting Vintage Powe Wagons, or maybe DCM. Both have potential donor trucks/parts. https://p15-d24.com/topic/52371-vendors-for-truck-parts/
  7. WELCOME, be sure to start a build thread so we can follow your progress! And we LOVE pictures!
  8. Sadly I said goodbye to my shop manager Puma. She was with me almost 100% of this build. RIP Pumers
  9. When he finally leaves for paint I will be building the running boards as well as the "saddle tanks" which will really be batt box and tool box. See below....grey will be black in final paint.
  10. I'm not a packer fan drinking paint thinner!
  11. Yep, all 4 corners. I debate about addding side markers/signals below the rail like below so they are visible to vehicles on the side, otherwise I have ZERO indicators on the side of the truck. That litterally might be a build day decision.
  12. Corner light bits fabbed up. 4 LED's per corner should be plenty bright!
  13. mocked up the corner light concept....I like it.... mudflaps....I DO have some SS cut out for "Job - Rated" badging, but I wonder about longevity of that/replacement if damamaged. Maybe just a straight up MoPaR logo.
  14. How close to the corner does the light HAVE to be? The corners have holes and I COULD drop a light in there but woudln't be as vivible as the marker lights with lenses. Itherwise liek I siad, I trim the tails on teh stake pocket side and stick 'em out as close to the edge as I can. Pretty sure NOTHING is "on the corner" on semis, etc...
  15. Spent the day yesterday SLOWLY drilling the bed strip holes...60 in total thru structural U channel....all while under the influence of my shimgles booster shot....but I got it done. Here is my "favorite" version of the back plate (for all intents and purposes legally read that as "bumper"). orange dot is camera, yellow is trailer connections. I just don't know if the marker lights are "out" far enough or not. I might need to trim my stake pocket bits a bit to push them out further.
  16. Maybe go thicker on that plate...heat deflection might get ya otherwise.
  17. Those will go in the faux fuel saddle tanks. Short headache planned.
