  1. Been a member since 2013 when I bought my 1952 B3B. Got my 1947 WD21 a few years later. The terms “job rated” and “pilothouse” are used a lot, but don’t seem to enjoy consistent usage — probably due to us uninformed newbies? Just wondering if the more seasoned among us could provide a more definitive answer to a few questions. 1. Job Rated: I’ve seen posts that limit this term to the 1939-1947 years, but my ‘52 has a “job rated” badge on the front grill. Does the term properly fit both? 2. Pilothouse: does this term relate to all cabs in the 1948-1953 years due to the higher riding cab or just to the five window “delux” cab versions. I’ve seen pilothouse used for 3 window cabs too, but can’t tell is that’s proper use of the term. Thanks in advance for the clarity that those years of experience and wisdom can provide. Regards, Bob
  2. Just picked up a '54 Job rated 1/2 ton truck. Rear wheel cylinder was leaking... Took some serious effort to get the rear drum off the passenger side. (RHT) Switched to the Drivers side (LHT) having issues because I have to use the lug bolts on the puller and they are not quite long enough and pop out.. Priced LHT bolts (1/2-20) AND WOW!! $35/ea if you can find them.. Anybody have any other sources for these LHT bolts that are less money? Anyway, I'm going to try some serious heat on the drum to see if that helps.. If not, I'll have to buy the longer bolts. OK, 'nuff of that... So, I am striking out on the drums.. I THINK mine are OK, but it seems these are very hard to find (11" x2 rear, 10" x 2 front) AND the wheel cylinder for the rear have a few different options.. ALL the pics I see show the uppers with the housing cutaway/recessed for the brake supply line. (I will attempt to post a pic of this) Mine have no recess in this area.. I do not see this being a big problem but would prefer to have the ones without the recess to insure they lay flat and no dirt can enter .. It appears the '52 Plymouth Cranbrook front brakes MAY use the same wheel cylinders as my rears. This is what I am trying to determine.. Will the '52 Cranbrook fronts works for me even with that recess or are there other differences? The pics from those places selling the "correct" uppers also show this recess.. So, I am guessing that they are using the same ones.. I have not been able to find good pics of any of these that do not have this recess. The Centric part numbers are such: Upper (supply):CENTRIC 13463040 and CENTRIC 13463043 and then the lowers are CENTRIC 13463041 and CENTRIC 13463044 Have any of you guys used these parts numbers successfully , if not what are the correct parts numbers? Any help or thoughts on ANY of the novel above would be great!! Thanks in advance
  3. My 1953 Job Rated does not have its bench seat it only has the frame that is built into cab. What are some options for making or using another truck seat? Exact replacement is almost impossible to find.

I am having a extremely hard time finding anything for my truck..can anyone point me in the right direction?....I am looking for motor mounts to install a Chevy small block, job rated emblems, and interior pieces. I also have a few newbie questions I would like to ask someone in the know.... thanks in advance, Terry
  5. Hi Folks, As I stated in my introduction, I’m in the planning stages of a ‘40s-style hop up based on a Dodge Brothers roadster and using 90%+ period MoPar content. After missing out on a complete engine / trans setup from a ‘38 Dodge passenger car, I’ve started thinking about other sources for a floor-shift 3-speed for this project. 1938 Dodge engine and trans I was already planning to use the steering box, column, and wheel from a Job Rated truck, and it occurred to me that these vehicles used floor-shift boxes as well. 1942 Dodge truck floor shifter Were the ‘39-‘47 truck three-speeds related to the ‘37-‘38 passenger-car boxes? How do the ratios compare? Can you swap parts around? Any help is appreciated! Regards, Dave
