Observations upon reaching an advanced age

I also am one that does not like this feature..for some threads there will NEVER be a solution as there was no question. In other cases the solution was ONLY what the originator agreed was best for him, could be a total cut corner but satisfied him. This is just my opinion only..... -

we got four season....warm and dry, warm and dry with bugs. wet and cold, wet and cold with bugs....! -
what 48 Plymouth had a 3.54 rear gear? If you found that in a 48 Plymouth, likely it was transplanted earlier by a PO.

I think by reading your prior threads you may end up with two in-op project cars.....tread carefully

Feel for the folks that live in snow country......but you can move.....? The storm passed through here and the rain was most heavy with associated high winds. This continued for some 8 hours....we hit saturation by daylight, before the storm passed both yards were standing water even on the slopes....lol After the rain, it soaked in gradually and with continued winds it helped a bit I am sure. My bud lost two big trees and if he can hold off till Thursday morning I will gladly help him with their removal but am tied up tomorrow with both morning and evening appointments in a direction 180 from him. I have not ventured out into the surrounding area but hopefully very little damage done to the local pecan orchards....they topple easily in saturated soil and high winds. Hate to see a tree go down... -
there are many possibles and one is only limited by lack of imagination and creativity. If asking as to a bolt on unit via a kit with all inclusive hardware (bracket bolts lines etc.) for the task, I would not think it may easily found. Some may market the bracket but local master procurement and plumbing will be on you. While not specifically for a truck, my latest Mopar of the era I upgraded, I used a master from a Dodge Dakota with same bore and stroke and made my own nipples and retainer plated and used an easily adapted dual chamber remote reservoir purchased from E-bay. Easy and extremely friendly to the wallet.

Very creative, but I would be concerned my tool would begin accelerated rusting and become unreliable... -
1948 Dodge Deluxe Coupe, will a Plymouth Grill fit it?
Plymouthy Adams replied to barbqueboy's topic in P15-D24 Forum
if you are a metal worker, anything can be done...if you asking if direct exchange NO...While the bodies look similar in design, they not even the same sized bodies, the Dodge is the larger car. -

3 speed selector transmission floor shifter
Plymouthy Adams replied to thebelvedereman's topic in P15-D24 Forum
give me five and let it come alive.....I'll take four but only on the floor...if I have to settle for three....anywhere but the tree....! For sure the selector setup on the old Mopars put an added twist to the floor shifter...I even prefer automatic shifters be on the floor....puts a bit of sport into the build... -

aging..................Earth's kryptonite -
Makes me shiver just thinking about going out much less creating my own wind chill at speed.....been a long time since I took a motorcycle out on anything but nice clear day. My hat's off to you....enjoy your retirement.....approaching year 12 and loving it...!

while my change of job and eventual moving was in truth a blessing in most all aspects, at the time I had to embrace this idea, I was not so convinced it would be. Once you accept the reality and get you head wrapped around it, all falls in place.

I wish I could comment further on the steering and the manner it was installed, I bought this project and for sure it has been the quintessential evidence of why never to buy someone else's work in progress and I have not nor never will consider a started or finished car by others. While I have reworked every aspect of the build, firewall, steering column, cooling system, exhaust, brakes, driveshaft phasing engine and rear axle, body welded/finish instead of rust holes packed with bondo....this segment of the car as purchased seems to be the only professional done segment and it was my understanding the only thing the builder farmed out and appears to be the Caviler tie rods. This car was a total misrepresentation by the seller even when direct questions were asked with the only concern to rework questionable area NOT HAVING to discover the shoddy workmanship, sad day. The car is sitting covered, all work done save topcoat paint, for the eventual day when my total disgust will allow me to find the love to finish the car. I was ready to crush it with the discovery of the last big surprise. But dang, you got to love the body style of the 41 dodge bz cpe.

sigh of relief, that makes all the difference....?

Now get out there and do something.......even if it's wrong!!!!!! Not decided if this will be a Mopar kind of year or maybe a Porsche year.....got to decide my next build....

Yet another new tire thread. or .... A fool and his money!
Plymouthy Adams replied to Los_Control's topic in Off Topic (OT)
while a solid and valid move on your part to protect your 6.....in the event of refund I am sure they will scream, given you get a response, no road back to the original account to send the refund....danged if you do and danged if you don't scenario. I still hope this works out for you. -
All Mopar.....original frame upgraded with a Mopar clip. Devout member of the ABC (anything but chevy)
-
depends on the rate you take sharp curves or have to steer the car to maneuver into tight places....given the huge original steering wheels, worm drive and tire patch without the aid of PS the benefit of a R&P already screams major improvements...ad power steering and likely your kindergartener will be taking your car to school. The rack and pinion in my 48 Plymouth business coupe is rated for over 6000 lbs.
-
while the rack itself is NOT GM but that of TRW and also USED on the 4200 lb series of Chrysler LHS. The inner bushings and such is the same both applications. You got to keep in mind that these aftermarket companies has to default to the rating of the supplied donor part for liability purposes. Take it from there.....to say there are no rack and pinion units for a vehicle over 3500 lbs is ludicrous. The Dodge Sprinter is the first to pop into my mind....not to mention the many trucks up to 3500 (Curb weight: 6,956 lbs. Maximum towing capacity: 34,110 lbs. Maximum payload: 4,440 lbs. Gross weight: 11,400 lbs) the light weight 6000lb car frame will fail first.

Norn left us this date 2009, known for his short trips up and down the driveway in the 48 Plymouth....he brought a lot of fun and humor to the forum. R.I.P. Norman

in other arenas of the car hobby there have been multiple failures of rotor buttons...cheaply made with little and often defective molded parts that would allow the spark to short to the distributor shaft thus the dead ignition spark

Is there a trick to posting a Wanted advert in the Classifieds?
Plymouthy Adams replied to andyd's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Andy, put all your loose change in your right front pocket and double knot you left shoelace and try again .......lol I know how frustrating this is....while not on this site, I have experience similar.
