  2. And the solution to that problem is to stomp on the switch several times .
  3. Just so you are aware ; On the larger engines the four bolts that hold the two manifolds together go all of the way through and have nuts on the bottom . On the smaller engines the bolts terminate inside of the bottom manifold and often break off and then you will need to deal with that .
  4. ... " I did notice that the temp gauge is very slow going back to zero on a warm day. Is that normal, could that be the problem? ... It takes a very long time for the coolant and engine block to cool off , that is normal .

  6. That is a 1939 or 1940 Dodge . The headlights were moved outboard for 1941 . There should be an identification plate on one of the door pillars .
  7. With the two diameters compared , and the mopar part numbers being the same , i would say that the answer to the question is yes , without a doubt . ... " Mine has the 1.25 inner. Does anyone know if that is the same size as the 1/2 ton trucks? It also has a .750 outer bearing . ... "
  8. I am going to guess that the disk brake kit is for a 5-lug bolt pattern and your existing wheels are a 6-lug bolt pattern .
  9. Also , My book shows the same part numbers for the WD15 spindles as the 1/2 tons . 666408 left and 666407 right . I was thinking that there were some changes between the 1/2 tons and the 3/4 tons . Perhaps it is the lug count on the drums .
  10. My 1941 plymouth i/2 ton truck has a 1.25 inner diameter and an .75 outer diameter spindle . it should be the same for the other 1939 - 1947 i/2 ton trucks .
  11. Dry cracked wood ; A few years ago on the Antique Road Show , one of the Keno brothers mentioned a product that could be applied that would cure the problem on very old wooden furniture legs . He said that they don't usually endorse products but this one was the only product that he found that would really work . I wish that I could remember the product name .
  12. You didn't mention the points , they need to be clean and gaped correctly .
  13. This is a new bumper and brackets from Dodge Central of Michigan . The bumper alone is $350 , bumper and brackets and bolts are priced together at $485 . When ordering you choose short or long version brackets , the brackets in my photo are the short brackets . I used a file to remove the sharp edges before painting . Everything fit well and the quality is great .
  14. This is what you are talking about right ? The clutch fork is loose where it goes through the bell housing ?
  15. Also if you decide to take it to a shop for frame straightening , don't be afraid to bargain if the cost seems too high .
  16. Dorman Spindle Nut 615-016 ; ebay from $23 to $28 . Summit Racing $28 . OReilly Auto Parts $4.
  17. It looks like your damper is one of those which has a flat spot used to remove the fan belt . Clearance for the close crossmember .
  18. As mentioned , if only boots are needed , just replace the boots . i have seen them in the parts store in two sizes . There are utube vidios on disconnecting the tie rod ends .
  19. 1946 - 1948 Dodge took starters MAW-4041 and MZ-1133 . Does this mean that MCH-6101 won't work ? I don't know .
  20. One part number only by Auto-Lite IGP - 3028ES for points , condenser IG - 3927G . For distributor IGS - 4109-1 .
  21. Did your kit come with spacers that go on the shaft , way in the back ? Some kits have a spacer so that the inner bearing doesn't slop around .
  22. You could check the pump by putting the inlet in a gas can . Is your fuel ling plugged going into the tank ?
  23. There is no way it can come out from the bottom . What do you see when you look in there , a massive cross member and the radiator support that also holds the fender supports .
